Groundwork started, figure sitting at about 50%, #histscalemodels. You can't see them, but I added the dreaded washboards known on poorly graded dirt roads. 😎

Jeep is nearly done. Highly recommend it as a quickie pallette cleanse build. I filched a couple 3D decals from my ICM M1097, figuring the dash panel was pretty similar and since it's a civilian jeep, I added some seatbelts. Weathering has just begun, think dusty Colorado trail!

I was always confused why people thought Jedi wasn't a good movie. My eight year old heart was in full fight or flight during the entire second act of the film. In short, it's the ultimate in thrilling tension and even if you know how it ends you get caught up in the stales.

3D resin printing is literally magic, folks. This was my first ever print where I designed the layout and the supports. I need to refine my exposure settings a touch, but I'm super happy with these little fiddly architecture accessories.

A little disappointed with the Trabant as a "curb-side" kit. I was really looking forward to a model as detailed as the Landy. Though, with less than a 100 parts, this should be a nice weekend project start to finish. Hopefully, the usual AM companies will work their magic quickly. #histscalemodels

Don't look too closely, #histscalemodels. The roughest, and I mean ROUGH, base layer is down. This weekend I'll go through and refine it with a brush and add the black separating lines. I used AK Elastic Camo Putty. It's nice to have, but there's a steep learning curve.

#histscalemodels, I believe I've desaturated the S35's Minty Fresh™ sky tone to acceptable levels. The end result after my experiments was 70/20/10 XF-21, XF-24, and XF-55. Progressive post shading was done with increasing mixtures of XF-55. Of course, most of this gets covered up, so...

#histscalemodels, my first airplane kit has arrived! I chose the OV-1A because there is one very close to my house and because it's such a weird, bug-like shape. To really make my life better, I snagged an Eduard mask set, resin wheels, and the Kelik 3D interior decals. See alt-text for more info.

The barn has started taking shape. In hindsight, creating hundreds of 2mm bricks to be placed individually probably wasn't the best method, but what can you do. This is all curing so I'm taking a quick break. #histscalemodels.

Okay, #histscalemodels, I need your expertise: spending time with that OV-1 yesterday sparked something in me, and I've read a lot of good reviews of the Clear Prop 1/72 example. This is what I've assembled for a potential project... am I going too deep with AM? Should my first airplane be OOB?

The OV-1 always reminds me of a dragonfly with its silhouette. 😎

So, #histscalemodels, I realized the figure for my Antarctic M29, from Black Dog, was way bigger than he should have been. I double checked the box and— it's actually 1/32 scale. OK, I'll re-order. eBay led me to more 1/32 examples labeled as 1/35. Frustrated, I went to Black Dog's website and 🤦‍♂️

Basic mockup for the SOMUA scene, #histscalemodels. I've been going back and forth on the building. Not sure if I want it to be a barn or a residential building. The tank and horse are in good positions, so I just need to nail down the structure so I can get started with the rest.

Here are the last shots of the S35 in its original multi-media state as it dries from its bath. last night I made some tarps to better integrate the large piece of stowage and I built the tracks. Standard Friulmodel affair, dab of flexy CA glue on the pins to keep them in place. #histscalemodels

Build phase on the S35 complete, and I have to say I'm pretty jazzed with how it turned out. This is probably the cleanest construction I've ever done and I'm really excited about putting down some paint tomorrow.
