Night Two of taking photos of nebulas in Joshua Tree with a Sony a7iii, a 100-400mm lens, and a MoveShootMove star tracker. This one was a 60 second exposure. I’m slowly getting better at polar aligning things, but finding deep sky stuff to photograph (other than Orion) is still tricky.

Braved some cold to take this photo last night. The Orion Nebula. For the other camera nerds: Sony a7iii, 400mm, f5.6, 20sec, ISO 12800, single shot.

According to a directory of old .jpgs I just found I briefly installed a webcam in my car... 22 years ago.

The aurora was visible in Joshua Tree! You could even see it with your eyes, no camera necessary. I have so many photos to process and share! What a magical night running around the desert with my camera. I cant even begin to explain how happy I am.
