loading . . . Kreator – Krushers Of The World (Album Review) **Kreator** is a German thrash metal band that emerged from Essen in 1982, recognised for combining fierce, high-energy thrash riffs with melodic touches. They’re regarded as part of the “Big Four of Teutonic Thrash” alongside **Sodom, Destruction** , and **Tankard** , and have played a major role in shaping both death and black metal. Fronted by vocalist and guitarist **Mille Petrozza** , the group’s lineup has remained consistent since 2001, with original member/drummer **Jürgen “Ventor” Rei** , guitarist **Sami Yl****i****-Sirniö** , and bassist **Frédéric Leclercq**. The band toyed with a few different styles in the 90’s, but they eventually returned to their signature thrash sound, sharpening it with a more melodic approach.
_“Krushers of the World”_ is **Kreator** ‘s 16th studio album and it delivers an adrenaline-fueled assault that captures the band’s signature blend of razor-sharp thrash and melodic subtleties. The album begins with “Seven Serpents”. It has an emotive intro which abruptly shifts to an unyielding barrage of high energy riffs and **Mille Petrozza** ‘s venomous vocals. It’s a great start to the album and showcases the artful blend of thrash and melody throughout the track.
_“Satanic Anarchy”_ is a ferocious anthem of intense chaos. From the start, the riffs are hectic yet hold an unmistakable groove, the chorus is unforgettable and the vocals are ferocious. This is one that will have a massive impact live! It’s a head-banging, fist pumping feast of gourmet thrash metal!
The title track _“Krushers of the World”_ has a foreboding intro as it builds into a heavy rolling riff that runs over you like a steam train, the track’s tempo is slower, the vocals are considered with impeccable timing – a menacing spoken world is delivered just before the blistering solo carries you into the last part of the song, it’s ominous and crushing and you don’t want it to end.
_“Tränenpalast”_ features guest vocalist **Britta Gortz** of German melodic death metal band **Hiraes**. The contrast between her vocal style and **Mille Petrozza’s** is epic, it adds a layer that captures your attention as they volley back and forth throughout the track. Very nicely done.
This album delivers track after track of in-your-face thrash riffs, thundering double kicks, violent solos and the instantly recognisable, controlled aggression of **Mille Petrozzas** ‘s vocals. The melodic aspects provide a roller coaster for the listener as you’re taken on a ride of intensely unrelenting thrash metal then back down to a considered melodic intro or outro, only to find yourself hurtling along once again to the eruption of another frantic offering from a band that has mastered and refined their craft over the past 4 decades.
They have maintained their distinct style and sound, and the connection to their early releases, but have masterfully brought their years of experience to _“Krushers of the World”_ to entice long time fans, while appealing to listeners who may not be as familiar with the bands long history.
Standout tracks for me are _“Satanic Anarchy”_ for it’s anthemic and chaotic energy and _“Blood Of Our Blood”_ which has a proper metal intro kicking off with a guitar dive bomb, a big drum roll into perfectly timed stops with guitars and drums together and into a powerful, savage vocal delivery, so 80’s, so metal … simply superb!
This is an album for thrash metal fans of all ages, if you can – get along to a live show and witness this in person, it will melt your face off!
