Squirlwas chipper on Friday, which for saying he had chemo this week was a surprise, but he's now back to feeling rough this weekend. Hopefully he will perk up on his week 'off' chemo. Least for me, next week has the team back to full, but I'm dreading work again.

Boy am I a sweaty unicorn. it's quite heated out there. Least I had chance to have a quiet pint and have a nose about town.

Dentist wants to see me in 3 months n to bring interdental brushes to help me find the right one for my muzzle. Sigh.

Stressy work day again. Also doesn't help it's too warm again! Squirl's feeling crappy from more Chemo as well. Why did the heat decided again to pick the week's he's on it??

A ‘learning experience’ with Dougie. He was napping toward instructor corner n I overreacted so he burrowed in more. Had to plan a head n not be so strong. In the end we both learned something!

With what's going on with Squirl and treatment, we're going to have to postpone our big Japan trip for a year :( its annoying but as it looks as if he's having chemo right to the end of Aug, and perhaps more depending on future scan, we cannot risk a big trip like this right now.

As I thought work is going to be interesting this week. Already having to deal with a toys out of pram issue that I've only just gotten involved in.. sigh. have you tried supporting a customer where you're not allowed to see your own logs, screen share or anything?? blindfolded support sucks.

Sending back the grazing muzzle I bought as for one, it's not nice.. it's basically a plastic octopus that you have to use tie clips to attach to your own head collar. 2nd, Doug's already been out on the grass for an hour ;) we'll just monitor his pulses.

We're down a person in the team this week. (they have a week off) so it's going to be interesting on top of yet another heatwave this week. urgh.

Dougie time was good. He’s still not perfect n a bit lumpy but that’s why he’s getting treated with arthramid in 3 weeks.

So, Squirl got antibiotics yesterday and told to rinse with salt water. He's feeling somewhat improved which is a relief! still monitoring his temps which seem normal as well.

We need to make a decision in the next few days on our Japan trip. They want final payment n we don’t know how squirls going to be com September. Squirl will talk to his oncologist Monday.

in other news I need to go out and pick up Dougie's change in feed. Stables messaged to say they don't have enough and could I pick up a bag of Speedibeet. So I guess I'll do that at lunch.

Squirl's trying to get an emergency dental appt. May have to call tomorrow to get that.

Garden friend.

My bloods came back. I knew I’d let things slip of late n my diabetes ‘level’ has bounced up from 48 to 50 so technically it needs to be lower again. I’ve been stressed somewhat n comfort eating.

Squirls not feeling good. No temp but he’s feeling more rough. Toothache isn’t helping. His white blood cell count is up as well. Hmm.

Well different nurse, better hunting! found a vein first time, no pain and got what they needed out of me and before my appt time too!

Tomorrow is 'lets see if we can get blood out of a Unicorn part 2' they had to move my appt earlier so I need to make sure I'm really hydrated tomorrow morn.

I do hope the gel will do what it did last time. I just want Dougie at his best n comfy on those front hooves of his.

And we wait for the vet. Again.

He was a little lumpier tonight. Need to work on my consistency with Dougie. Got vet tomorrow to see if he’s improved. Both myself n instructor think he will not like the hard surface. Going ok on soft tho!!

Much cooler last night but I had worse sleep. Brain needs all the caffeine.

Decided since I need to be more 'active' I'd walk down to the chemist.. fool of a 'corn! there level crossing fun as a train just sat there waiting for no apparent reason on a single line track.. then of course its still hot, but more cloud today. glad its dropping 10c tomorrow.

What a mess! Groceries day, so off to Sainsburies - wonder why it's not busy.. no fridges/freezers working. so we had to drive to Tesco, thats rammed because they do have working cold devices. was hoping for a quick shop but nope!

As I has suspected, I have put on some weight since the last time I checked. Mostly due to the current situation with Squirl/cancer and comfort eating. I need to try harder and not do so.

what a waste of time at the docs. The nurse failed 3 times to get any decent amounts of blood from both arms and the back of one hand (which is now quite sore) - need to rebook for bloods for next week now. grrr.

Oh is it hot out here. Just the short walk to the docs was fun. The wind is hot!

I have doctors today. Got my annual long term medical check up. This means getting crispy outside as its better to walk there of course, but does mean being chased by the heat!

We rode indoors to hide from the crispyness. Dougie took time to get going, much like me ;)

I suspect it's going to be Crispy out at the stables tonight. Will see how Dougie is when I get out there shortly.

It was hot n humid at the stables n Dougie was feeling it. As was I. He was stiff but we worked on this. Not a bad lesson even if I felt cooked!

I may be having some beer today to compensate for last weekend bday stuff.

Oh some good news. Seems my insurance for Dougie will cover for his current treatment!

Rode Dougie last night. He seemed ok! He had lost muscle n condition tho. He’s getting bloods done today to see about ems orbits changed. Then next week recheck of front hooves.
