Missing out on a lot of things this week. Beer fest for one. Confuzzled for two and I really hope Dougie does well for the vet on thursday. Mood has been all over the place for obvious reasons.

Bored Dougie mode.

Vet called. Doug's blood's show he does have higher insulin levels (should be 30ish, his are 40ish) - its not bad but we've already started cutting out sugar beet and pony nuts that have higher sugar. She wants his hay soaked as well. She will be up thurs to see if this box rest n meds have helped.

So need to re-arrange another visit to get the sos sorted now.

Sigh. Went to pick up the car. It’s been checked, updated with new os. But sos is still faulty. And it appears some one last night did something to the rear bumper. White powder on it. It was there this morn according to pic from dealer. So some one scuffed it? Washed it off looks better.

Thats the car dropped off. Lets hope they can sort out the software/SOS and the clicky drivers seat.

Dropping the car back to the dealer tomorrow. Couple of issue bugging me. SOS system offline. Drivers seat clacking when it didn’t before n I want a forced update of the OS too.

Popped to the stables to see how Doug's is doing. He's still got a slight pulse in his right pastern area, not as bad as Tuesday as I could really feel it, I had to do a double check to see if I could feel something it was the light. will pop up after work to walk him depending on what my vet chat.

Sleep has been up and down all this week. Last night it was particularly disturbed according to the watch. Sigh.

My fave hoodie has a broken zipper. Dropped off at Timpsons to get an expensive zip replace. I’ve had this hoodie a long time. Must be 10+ years n can’t get it again. Needs must.

Well squirls first chemo is done. He’s handed back his pump n checked his central line. He has to go back next week to have the line checked. Then week after us chemo 2. He’s feeling crap tho.

Back at 'work' today. Trying to distract myself with it while keeping an eye on Squirl who's starting to feel crap from the Chemo slowly being pumped into him by his portable pump device.

The big news though..Squirl's started his chemo today. I just dropped him off there. But it's not good. if he doesn't respond to chemo - its bad. if he does, we're looking 3-10 years perhaps. We have a lot of things we need to sort out just in case now. I don't think I'm processing it.

Sigh. So Vet saw Doug's. He still has a pulse in those fronts and is still lame on hard surfaces. She wants more rest, more Bute and has taken bloods to check for Equine diabetes. wants to see him in a week, talk to farrier about more changes to his shoes (a wedge as well) and re-doing....

Well Vet will be out to see Dougie tomorrow between 9:45>10:45 - I will be hoping for better news once she see's him. supposed to be riding him tomorrow night as it is.

I will admit to being a tad tense on Doug’s today due to him not having been ridden in 2 weeks.

I did the sit on Dougie! Apparently he was ‘throwing shapes’ in the sand school yesterday as well. He felt fine to me n improved as we went on. Will see what vet says Tues.

Time for this.

I walked the Dougie for a little until he got snorty n wanting to not walk on lead n try to tank about. He’s going to get som outdoor time tomorrow but restricted. See how he is under saddle Sunday.

Yet more scanning of the Squirl today. Xray and then MRI.

I will be giving Dougie a break from my presence today as we need to vote in the local council elections. Time to be a tactical voter and keep out the Worst of the Worst.

So Dougie is still bored but is now sporting his new blue pads n his full circle bar shoes up front. Will walk him about Friday n try sitting on Sunday.

25 years ago today, Squirl and I moved to Cambridge to live together. I'd never lived anywhere else until we did this.

I've done 2 Bank holiday tasks.. Had a lie in and washed the car ;)

And back home via Dougie and Groceries. car is on 38% of charge and thinks we did an average of 5.5Miles/wkh. we left yesterday at 79% so this car really is much better efficiency wise than the Bz.

Time for a brief stop off for coffee before we go hug on Dougie then home.

And it's that time of the month so we're back down south for Gaming. We managed to do 100miles on 20% of charge in the car.. it's heckin efficient compared to the old BZ4x. There was a lot of stop start traffic so that helped. will see how much we consume tomorrow.

Dougie's front hooves are still a mess. he has some inflammation still so he's getting Bute and box rest for 2 weeks. he's also getting new bar shoes and 3d pads for his fronts next weds. I then need to arrange for the vet to see him a week Tuesday once he's settled into his new shoes.

Rode Dougie indoors again as it’s softer. He went much better but still short on right rein trot. Will mention to vets during X-rays tomorrow. I want his pads back on as well.

Was quite concerned this was something bad so relieved it’s not. Yay for being old I guess??

Ok. Verdict is my eyes are old. My virtuous humor has shrunk causing more floaters n shadow like stuff. No retina issues so this will improve once my brain figures out how to filter them out.

I’ve had the world’s stingiest eye drops. Waiting to look like a deer in headlights now.

Well that’s the retina pics n dreaded puff of air for both eyes done. Now we wait for more.

I’m in town. Having coffee before I get my eyes poked n probed.

Got an eye checkup tomorrow morning, so booked it as a sick day. Lets see what they find.

Called my Glau clinic, they say call Emergency eye clinic. left message. Call back and say 'Should have gone to Specsavers..' so called specsavers and they are going to call me back after talking to optometrist for an eye health check in the right. Lets hope I can get in one this week asap

Garden visitor!

Today’s Dougie ride was interesting. He was ridden Friday n was good till his hoof found a daytime n went owie. When I rode he was good in walk n mostly fine in trot apart from right rein n was a little lumpy. X-ray weds!

Well after a nights sleep, there's no change in the right eye. still looks like I have a spot (its like I've looked at a bright light) plus if I flick back and forth, I see a half circle - this is not right so I guess I'm calling the eye docs tomorrow.

Hmm.. There is something up with my right eye. My left is already damaged thanks to glaucoma, but there is a spot of something in the centre of my vision. as I've only just noticed it, it must have come on today. see how it is in the morn then may have to get this checked.

Was trying to have a slow relaxed day, but just mown the lawns ;) I would wash the car but its way too sunny out there today.

We’re having a curry since we don’t know when we might have another due to Squirl treatments soon.

One small bit of good news in a week of really bad news.. I got promoted at work. Comes with a 'senior' addition to my existing role. Does mean I got a rise as well. My title now matches the grey in my mane..

Well things are moving quickly for Squirl. Chemo dates already. Start in 3 week time. has his Pet and MRI scan dates as well.

Ok. Honse X-ray for next weds. Asked for the vet to call to go over Doug’s current state too.
