I retired early for health reasons. I read another article about how SS payments will drop 23% in 10 years without any changes. The *experts* still maintain that everyone should work until they're 70 for maximum benefits. If you've done hard physical labor all your life check the obituaries first.

Here in WV a lot of the really poor are elderly shut-ins and if you make them reapply many of them will die quietly at home & children suffer malnutrition.

I watched the first episode of PBS's American Revolution. Turns out from the beginning we were a Diverse bunch seeking Equality & Inclusion & invading our cities with soldiers gets the population pissed off enough for a revolution. You hear a lot about the federal workers in northern Virginia but WV has some too. They have the FBI fingerprint center in Clarksburg and a Coast Guard office in the eastern panhandle as well as Dept. of Ag offices and research facilities in the northern part of the state. Theres an article in USA Today about melatonin that everyone should read. I've been using it mainly to chill out an unrelenting thought process. Turns out people who use it have a 90% higher chance of heart failure than non users. 3.5 times as likely to be hospitalized for heart failure. Not safe.

I noticed when I was out this morning that the nearest mega church was having it's food event. I think what they do is give a trunk load of food to their own parishioners. Their tithing feeds themselves. I slipped some cash to the store manager to help people who go over at the register.

Reading an article on West Virginia Watch that has some devastating figures on the impact the loss of SNAP will have on WV. More than 6K children in state custody. 275K WV'ians including 86K children depend on SNAP. 45 million a month for the state. You can blame the adults but not the children.
