I'm working on a VRC world right now that's mainly lit by audio reactive Light Volumes and I was wondering if there was a better way to deal with non-LV avatars than just having them be very dark? Not sure if there's already some convention among world creators or something.

I found some motivation to work on the particle sphere idea again, and I finally got the simulation to work how I wanted now. Also I found that putting the sphere next to the main platform actually looks pretty cool too (maybe even better?) while also being a lot less disorienting.

I made a little script to send me notifications whenever one of my SteamVR devices stops charging. That should hopefully fix the problem of the powerbank in my pocket running out and the Quest suddenly losing charge without me noticing. Maybe it also helps someone else. github.com/jangxx/openv...

For todays entry into the list of "nonsense AI stuff that no one asked for" I built a VRChat MCP client (to learn more about how MCP works) and now I can control my avatar by chatting with Claude and waiting 10 seconds for the action to happen.

Tried going to the Anna Lapwood concert in the Cologne Cathedral after work today but it was just absolutely mega full and we didn't get in. Apparently she's doing a second concert right afterwards but with the amount of people waiting outside I doubt I would get into that either :D

I splurged a bit and got a new portable AC for my apartment this week. Now it hasn't been particularly hot the last week in Germany so today was the first time I tested it. The results are honestly stunning and I made two graphs that hopefully speak for themselves.

I beat Clair Obscur yesterday and man, what a game. It really is as good as everyone is saying! One thing to note though is to listen to reddit and actually do the final boss as soon as it's available. I was like 30 levels too high and basically just one-shot it without seeing all the epic stuff.

At this point, this situation feels like some sort of digital financial self-flagellation and it's not pretty to watch. I don't say this lightly, but maybe he should've gone to therapy.

Dreadrith taking down and permanently disabling all his VRC tools is just another reminder to me why all my tools should either be open source or at least offline available. I used Controller Editor a lot for avatars and worlds and now have to go back to doing everything manually. This sucks a lot.
