I'm writing my 2nd big D&D supplement. One of the chapters has points of interest DMs/GMs can drop into their games. Sometimes game content starts with pairs of words from a random word generator, which I turn into basic ideas, and I'll later make those into finished written materials. No AI here.

In D&D, I've started keeping track of PCs' passive Insight so I can tell them if they just sense something off with the way an NPC is acting/talking. If a player asks to do an Insight check to tell if they're lying, low results will often be "You think they're lying"...because why ask otherwise? 🤔

The most time-consuming part of creating a new D&D 5e background is (for me) writing the tables for personality traits, ideals, bonds, and flaws. Many experienced players totally ignore them, but the tables are helpful to those who may be newer to creating a character that's more than just stats.

The PCs in my D&D game really want to get to civilization...while they've inadvertently chosen to walk a route that took them through miles and miles of civilization-free land. No roads to cross, no villages, just wild land and wild creatures in every direction. They have found a coastline now.
