I rewatched Elio and I still don’t get the hate this movie gets. Is it because something can’t just be good nowadays? The story is a little rickety, but there’s genuine emotion and the jokes land. It zips by. It‘s in the middle of my Pixar rankings. Worth watching.

Somehow missed Stopmotion on my ranking of animated movies. It would have been lower on my list. Maybe 7 just ahead of Creepshow animated special. The premise is amazing and the animation is cool, plus it’s the most straightforward horror movie. It’s just a poor script with wooden actors.

3 animated halloween films for adults. 1st on the list is Seoul Station, the prequel to Train to Busan. Because it is animated it is able to go places Busan cannot. While not terribly original if you like zombies gnawing down on people it’s pretty good. Wish the script was better. B-

I wish I had more time with this sweet, sweet boy. The house already feels empty without him. I tried to send him off with as much love as I could. These little lives are so precious. I loved Chip so so much and will miss him. Love your furry friends.

Gonna take a bit of a break from social media. My poor kitty Chip has taken a turn for the worse. He has kidney failure and is not eating. Hospice at home. If he doesn’t improve by Saturday it looks like that’s the day we will put him down. The vet says he isn’t suffering. Filling him with love.

This book is really fantastic. It explores Hayao Miyazaki by looking at the media and themes that influenced him. It’s a really smart way to discuss an artist.
