I understand that Phil Spencer is such a legend that him retiring is a big deal but it is funny to me how Bluepoint Games being shuttered immediately left headlines because of it. CEOs come and go. Playstation and Nintendo have done it multiple times during Spencer's reign. #Xbox

Some time from now these same accounts, other influencers and journalists will accuse Xbox of "rake stepping again" because they had to click bait these vague replies. Xbox would discontinue or pull back Game Pass significantly before they'd ever go full exclusive again. #Xbox

A part of me hopes the current generation consoles and hardware really do have a longer life span now because a game like Mass Effect 5 can just target known devices with a more mature and refined version of Unreal Engine 5. #MassEffect

The next gen of hardware is especially interesting since it may be the first one that isn't trying to increase the base resolution they're targeting. I suspect this will mean more of a focus on ray tracing performance, quick resume style features and so on. This can all wait.

I'm excited for the next Xbox and I'm starting to care less and less about conversations around exclusives, Game Pass, unit sales, profit margins and so on... those things don't matter to any of us and we don't know facts about any of them. It's mostly just bait by influencers IMO.🎮 #Xbox
