The current games of my fighting game arc. I'm still more of a casual player, though, and I don't always play every day.

I'm shipping my queen Regina from Dino Crisis with Marisa from Street Fighter 6.🥵 I need to start thinking about ideas for Skeb art commissions.

I love it when Marisa's Scutum > Enfold connects.

I decided to start Street Fighter 6 ranked using Marisa. I selected Beginner level since it's my first SF game. I won 9 out of my 10 placement matches and got assigned to Gold 1 ranking. There's still a lot for me to learn, though, especially in terms of using the Drive system.

Currently studying Street Fighter 6 which is my very first main line Street Fighter game. I'm happy to be learning something different even if that means it will take me longer before I hop on to ranked matches. Special thanks to @loveknife.net

It's common for people to dismiss arcade games as "too simple," but they can't even read through one page of a scoring guide much less apply it to said "too simple" game. Even worse, they'll talk about how they "have the attention span of a goldfish" like it's a good quirk.

Fighting game combos are overrated.

Currently studying Gaoh in SamSho V Special. I've only put in 26 hours on this game since I started playing six months ago, but it's always a treat coming back to it. I guess it does help that I have the mentality of just playing the game and taking all the losses on the chin.

I did another Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours no-miss 1CC. It was my first time doing it on A-D-I route using the Second Silver Hawk.

Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours (Steam). I got my second no-miss 1CC of ADH route with the Second Silver Hawk and beaten my PB from the Switch version. I might go for all the rest of the routes like I did with the Gaiden Silver Hawk back in 2023.

I got my first two consecutive FT5 wins in Samurai Shodown V Special. My opponent in this screenshot used Enja's speed bug cheat twice to force the final round and still lost. I was using Tam Tam, and now I'm torn which character is my main. Tam Tam, Kyoshiro, or Charlotte?

Primal Carnage: Extinction still reigns supreme. DBD still made second place because of the two 2v8 events. Happy to see some arcade representation as well. I've just been too lazy to aim for 1CCs. And wtf is Inventory Management?

Fightcade players refusing matches forced me to play the Steam version of Samurai Shodown V Special instead. I got two wins, so now I have an entry in the leaderboards.

Managed to dig up some old stuff I had from way back in the 1990s! Orbis Swap It! Series 1 dinosaur cards.

I love games that pits hot ladies against dinosaurs and I also love Tomb Raider Anniversary, so I'm interested in playing Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.

Trying out Tetris for the first time since I was a little kid. I picked TGM2, and wow I'm surprised that I was able to adapt to it fairly quickly. This was my second time reaching Grade 4 and the closest I got to level 300.

If we're considering easy modes, Strikers 1945 on Monkey difficulty with P-38. If actual arcade difficulty, Mushihimesama 1.5 Original with M-Power shot.

I love how solid #FightingEXLayer feels. I've never gotten deep into 6-button fighting games, so I'm having to adjust a lot. I'm torn between easier execution = less damage versus harder execution = more damage. #FEXL

I revisited Festival Mall Alabang which has an indoor amusement park. It used to have many arcade candy cabinets, but these are all that remain. This is where I used to play Psikyo shmups back in the 2000s.

In the Sailor Moon beat 'em up game for the Mega Drive, if you do Sailor Mars' anti-crowd move (C button), you can spam the pause button and get an upskirt shot. My early puberty teenager brain thought of that.😂

One afternoon of playing made such a difference to me. I did my first 1CC of normal mode without the boring projectile cheese that I used to do as a kid. The infinite jab gets boring too, but at least it helped me clear the game faster by 15 minutes. youtu.be/jSu5b7VY1-A

The recent beat 'em up discourse made me revisit the Sailor Moon game for the Mega Drive and do a 1CC with one of the autocombo characters (Sailor Moon). One afternoon of playing made me go 180 on my 25-plus-year-old opinion about Sailor Venus being the easiest character.😂

Back then as a kid, my NES clone's controllers had turbo buttons. So it was "normal" for me to also enable turbo when playing NES Contra on emulators. But for the sake of having a valid run, I decided to do my first 1CC without turbo fire. youtu.be/Q2l9lAgrS2U

I used to play the Sailor Moon beat 'em up for the Mega Drive as a kid, but I cannot remember if I ever 1CC'd it back then. So I revisited it today and got a 1CC of normal difficulty with Sailor Venus whom I also used back then.

I haven't practiced shmups/STGs for two years. I revisited Crimzon Clover World EXplosion hoping to beat my PB of Arrange Boost mode with Type-I. Started Stage 5 with seven extra lives, started chain-dying at the hell of hall, and ended with a choke at the final boss.😆

With the availability of arcade games via modern ports and emulation along with tools to help a player practice, dismissing arcade games for having "cheap" and "unfair" design now speaks more about a person's taste and/or refusal to stand up to the challenge than a game's design.

I bought #FightingEXLayer. I haven't played any 6-button fighting games extensively, so it's gonna be a big challenge getting used to it. #ファイティングEXレイヤー #FEXL

I just finished the main story of Rise of the Tomb Raider and got 100% completion. I wish there was a Tomb Raider reboot game wit dinosaurs in it.

I'm not really into the parry-centric gameplay that you see in Sekiro or Lies of P, but if I will play such a game, then it's going to be Dinoblade.

10 games to get to know me. I had to make some pretty tough choices about what gets into the list.

I did a 3-credit clear of Maiden Cops on the easiest difficulty just for the story and unlocking all of the stages. Really enjoyed it a lot. Judging by the overall game design, you can tell that the devs really love classic beat 'em ups.

I ended up buying Maiden Cops by @pippingames.bsky.social. Very fun classic-style beat 'em up with monster girl fanservice. I like Priscilla Salamander the most even though salamanders aren't supposed to have scales.

Today I did my second clear of Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly. The first time I cleared it was over 15 years ago.

Since it's spooky month and there's a second remake in the works, I've decided to replay Fatal Frame 2, one of the three survival horror games I cleared in the late '90s to mid-2000s alongside Dino Crisis and Kuon.

I cleared Dino Crisis' Operation Wipe Out for the first time. I remember being a teenager playing this many, many years ago, and I ran out of time in front of the final exit because Regina was badly injured and limping.

It's been over two years since I had any new significant shmup 1CCs. I'm too lazy to practice that every time a nice new shmup comes out I just tell myself that I'd rather do high scoring in Darius Gaiden, which I don't end up doing.😆

Now that I finally own an official copy of Doom, I revisited the Dino Crisis 2 weapons mod and "Carnivore Disaster" dinosaur enemy mod. It was tough trying to get out of the starting room in E1M3 on hard mode. Luckily I was able to purchase the dual SMGs after getting some kills.

I've been having a lot of fun playing @deathgroundgame.com on single player, and I wish it would have its bug fixes and updates soon. Despite my Acer Nitro 5 laptop's GTX 1650 Ti not meeting the minimum requirements, I am still able to run it around 60 fps on the lowest settings.
