How I achieve the Jasmine Stitch! I use almost every finger on my left hand, and I added a slowed down version at the end. That way, you can really see my middle finger hook that working yarn, rather than pinching it and hoping for the best. #Crochet #JasmineStitch

Someone called me "ma'am" the other day, and I had to actually talk myself down from being offended. Immediately, I was like "how fucking old do you think I am, brother?" He was trying to be respectful, but "miss" would do just fine. I'm only 26, I'm not a "ma'am" yet.

I don't take failure in textiles very well, so cro-tatting was an actual fucking nightmare for me. I could never get the stitches off the hook and it made me want to run head first into a brick wall. Needle tatting has been a gem to do, but cro-tatting? I'd rather die, actually.

I'll forever remember when my mom got a call from the county jail, & the first thing my aunt said was "I hit her." And when my mom asked who, she just said "our mother." Girl, she cocked her arm back, punched her in the face, and asked her "how does it feel?" That's courage right there. An icon.

I love reminding people that some birds will literally consume a fertilized egg bc they don't think it's a good idea to have a child. We are not the only species that analyzes the world around us and says "fuck, this is not a good idea" and then terminates the pregnancy (or eats the egg).
