Who out there in Otepoti is able to help me build up tomato seed for a good cause? Good cause as in free seedy resources for all people. Im also planning to do this with beans, so if you'd prefer to grow beans, im going to get tomatoes out first and probably get onto beans mid August.

The thing that I think I am learning the most from seedsaving is watching and responding to nature. Learning to trust the season to inform me me when to collect seeds. When seeds are ready to harvest. (Mightn't appeal to a lot of people)

Lettuce seed heads, seeds. Next time you sow lettuce, plant twice as many, and let 5 or 10 go to seed. Yesterday, I sowed Merveille Des Quatre Saisons and Apache lettuce, which will go in separate gardens, and will be left to set seed.

If anyone ever hears of a (very, very cheap) labelmaker, I'd find it so beneficial for labellling seed packets. I have cerebral palsy w hemiplegia and an intention tremor, so writing can be a bit hit and miss. (I prefer writing in pencil because of the added friction).

Thank you to my friend Jay who dropped off some cabbage (red) and Cavolo Nero kale seed. The Cavolo Nero will be mixed with my Cavolo Nero as well as Leannes, so the next time we grow it out for seed, it'll be combining from three different lines.
