This little blog article of mine has been up since end of July—it was so nice to be able to flex those drawing muscles again and engage creatively with Soloúp’s graphic novel ✏️

That feeling when an idea/argument just won’t leave you alone. And so you know it’s going to be a new project.

“She says, he is a great soul. —A great bladder for dried peas to rattle in!” One of the all-time great literary burns. We love you, Mrs Cadwallader

Arthur Conan Doyle has one of the most delightfully legible handwriting styles of any 19thC writer. The letter below is to Bram Stoker, congratulating him on the publication of Dracula. Font people! Why has no-one made this into a font yet, like the Jane Austen font?

remembering when Homi Bhabha held the

lecture in Vienna last October and my pen never left the paper in my notebook; ‘attention becomes a very important measure of time’. Still find myself ruminating on so much of what he said.

Really recommend this new small exhibition in Kew's Library Reading Room exploring shifts in the practices of 18 and 19C botany and how indigenous knowledge was used and acknowledged

Introducing my tiny greyhound Oona (who is actually a cat) to bluesky. She’s four years old, smaller than your average cat (she has issues with this) and loves to bask in sunshine on the windowsill, judging all passers-by. She’s dorky, toothless, and a frequent guest at cafés and vintage shops 🎠✨
