The Fourth Amendment isn’t hard to understand. ICE’s claim that they can force themselves into homes without a judge’s warrant is a blatant violation and a clear abuse of power.

Minnesotans, and all Americans, have been made less safe by ICE's reckless and unlawful behavior. I refuse to support this current package of funding bills as federal agents shoot Americans in the street. My full statement:

Freedom in America means our government can’t just enter our homes without proper legal authority. We were so sure of that we wrote it into our Constitution. President Trump and Secretary Noem don’t get to just throw those rights out the window on a whim.

By now you've probably seen the tragic video of an ICE agent shooting a Minnesota woman as she tried to drive away.   The agent responsible for this tragedy must be brought to justice, and it's time for Secretary Noem to resign.

The Constitution explicitly gives Congress the power to declare war for a reason, that's why I voted 'yes' on today's war powers resolution. It's time my colleagues started taking this president at his word and acting before he recklessly drags us into war.

This weekend, communities at home & around the world have been tragically impacted by senseless gun violence. As we mark the anniversary of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook, let us honor the memory of those 26 lives lost with action. Action to end gun violence & make all our communities safer.

My heart is with the students and faculty of Brown University, and the entire Providence community. I’m praying for the loved ones of those lost and for the recovery of those injured. Our schools should be a place for students to learn and grow, not live in fear of gun violence.
