1cc #906: Saint Dragon. Take flight as a bio-mechanical snaky dragon to fight through 6 stages with wildly fluctuating difficulty. Stage 4 is hell. Other parts of the game let you sleepwalk through them in a safespot. A stylish, frustrating, weird, and rewarding game.

Depression-era recipes are trendy right now so I tried making apple juice pie. It...works? Tastes just like a regular apple pie, just with a simpler texture with no fruit chunks.

1cc #905: Sky Base. Space games, wahoo! Space games, wahoo! A simple early arcade game where fast unpredictable enemy fire makes clearing even a single loop difficult. Not a great game, even if you "grade on a curve" and compare to other 1982 shmups.

Went out doing deep canvassing today with #cadem - instead of just asking for a vote, we led with questions. Some people are mad about gas prices and tariffs, some commiserate about neighbors who have been disappeared by ICE.

Seibu Cup Soccer is flagged as "not working" in MAME, due to unemulated protection. It does boot up and run. Once a soccer match starts, all the players except you and the goalies immediately flee the field. (The blue and red dots escape the minimap at the top center...and just keep going!)

Played Graveyard Keeper and the tech-tree screen makes me think of an alternate version of the Jet Set Radio Future song: "UNDERSTAND UNDERSTAND the CONCEPT of DIRT!"

Tick tock...it's potato o'clock. Potatoes with black beans. Chives and butter are classic add-ons to potato. This recipe also uses miso and chili crisp, and water chestnuts for texture variety.

1cc #903: Rougien. An early shmup with very limited color palette. It still has some impressive "3D" sequences flying through tunnels with Death Star vibes. ...And then you fight a giant disembodied mouth that spits enemies at you.

Breadcrumb tofu tenders with sweet and sour sauce, air fryer zucchini, fresh sliced cucumber. Sauce turned out great - it is mostly mustard and maple syrup but with a little molasses and lemon zest for richer flavor notes.

1cc #902: Regulus. Early Sega shmup / run-and-gun hybrid. You have a PEW-PEW-PEW laser firing in 8 directions, and a NYEEEOOOM bomb that flies to a fixed reticle. Lots of bug-themed enemies, including the boss lurking at the center of a spiderweb. Not a bad little game for '83.

1cc #901: Raiders. There's not much to this one. It has a docking mini-game and a boss battle, but the enemy waves are very simplistic. This came out in 1983, the same year as Xevious, and this one plays more like a 1981 game.

1cc #900: Gogetsuji Legends. Easier than Power Instinct 2, if you harness the mighty power of CHUCK. (Still not that easy!) This makes a total of 900 arcade 1-credit clears. Only 100 more till the nice round number of 1,000.

1cc #899: Power Instinct 2. Intense 1v1 fighting - a very different experience from playing Plotting. The enemy AI is ruthless and input-reads many attacks. Thankfully Osima can timer-scam some of the hardest CPU opponents - they wait politely while you keep charging your energy balls.
