Been playing quite a bit of Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen in the evenings lately. Picked up DD2 to play it, but went back to DDDA, since its got bitterblack isle, but i forgot at the time i was underleveled. so ive been cooking on leveling. I am having a hard time getting rift crystals though...

Previously mentioned the asking about quests. I've opted to do possession quests. These are activated once a character is possessed, failed if unpossessed. Pretty simple; slay, fetch, go here. #indiedev #solodev

Btw, some of the refs have to be tweaked to avoid direct naming of things as to not be hit with that big ass copyright hammer. 😂

Do you like references? You may have have seen a little bit of this, but for the npc chatter alongside my custom insult generator, i actually have them (for differing actions) spouting loads of either really known or some really obscure refs. You'll either hate it or love it 😁

So ive refactored the npc move logic, oof. Made a measure tool that measures between 2 points and they pick from that range. What they do is they have their own target to move to that is repositioned along that range, and they move towards it. then decide to idle/atk and repeat. #indiedev #solodev

Was gonna create some more features today, but ive had to dig through the npc movement logic to figure why the hell they decided to walk to the ends of the earth and not stop like their supposed to. Finally manage to get it done, but in a way im gonna go over yet again to get a clean move loop/etc.

To quest or not to quest, that is the QUESTion😂 So, do you as a player want tracked quests in a little notebook or do ye want to not track quests? Also, do ye want instant rewards for quest completion or do ye want to return to the scene and be rewarded? #indiedev #solodev

🦷Tooth update: was gonna head to the oral surgeon today, but alas doth ye had no appts. available for today. So, i'll have to wait a few more days until Nov. 3rd and we'll go from. Pain has gone down somewhat-ish...and it doesn't feel like is crushing my skull like before, so that's a win 😅

Rough times man, apparently my mouth is too small for them to see properly. So the dentist tried to get the tooth out, broke it some more, now ive got to go to an oral surgeon. Just great.

Finally after a week or two, after i've broken a tooth in on the right side in the back of my mouth, i'm going to a dentist in a bit. Not looking forward to it, but better to get this thing out then keep it in.

Alright so ive been cooking today and you can now attack while you possess any character, plus they now rarity (affects stats) and the now also have hover outlines per rarity color. #indiegame #gamedev #solodev

So enemies now have differing chatter types for differing situations; attack, death, hit, random comments, insults, etc. The log will track all of that as well as above npcs, like shoutouts. Npcs can attack and kill one another, except the horse dudes. #indiegame #gamedev #solodev
