Visited the IPMS Scale Model World show in Telford yesterday. First port of call was CSM where a small sum of money was exchanged for some rather fine products. The 1916 4hp 2-cyl wanderer MC....... 🤯 stunning! #histscalemodels

Working some proof of concept colours and effects on my undead, the way GW have painted them to my eye looks too bright and shiny for dead that have lay rotting. Thus, dirty fabric, rusty and moulding armour. Any feedback would be great.

Over the years I've been resistant to buying into GW, but since my son has dived in feet first, apparently so have I! After months of cajoling I've planted my flag in AoS undead! Beautiful miniatures and strangely addictive. Stands alongside my SoB 😐

Work continues on the T-54 Tiran. Enamel wash to form a base layer of grime on the engine bay, acrylic chipping on high wear areas on the fighting compartment, followed by a raft of oils to add wear and filth. Let this dry and then take stock for round two #histscalemodels

I've circled back to the T-54 Tiran, fiddly shit. Completed the basic colours of the interior, including the engine. Added some weathering with the first acrylic layer of rust effects on the exhausts, then added the wiring loom. A quick dry fit, and she fits together beautifully. #histscalemodels

A bit more progress on the Königsberg today. Railings, primary and secondary armaments added, cranes squeezed into place. Finish off the paintwork, lifeboats to be completed and then added. Weathering, and rigging...... nearly there. #histscalemodels

Still very much WiP, a shelf queen that I needed to circle back to. Flyhawk 1/700 Königsberg as she was before loss at Narvik. A productive afternoon, repainted the main deck colour, wooden decks, added details etc, not too much further till completion. He says optimistically. #histscalemodels

Today's efforts! Stepped away from the 1/72 HEMTT and caught up with its trailer. Tetra model have you replace the neck with brass, this I soldered for strength and better integrity. Shackle loops omitted until after painting. Will add wheels and back to the tractor tomorrow. #histscalemodels

Finished building the Vespid models 1/72 Early Tiger 1, cracking kit! Changed out the hull mg barrel for a turned brass part from Aber. Dug out a few crew figures and a bicycle. Nice fun little project. #histscalemodels

Catching up on some painting this weekend. I finally finished the last of the USMC for Afghanistan, and a bunch of media personnel. Looks and feels good seeing them done together in the box. Then, I filled some time with a unit of Warp lightning cannons. Next up, Taliban. Productive!

So! I may have developed a small problem! First impressions upon opening the box! Stunning! Incredible details, full interior, 3d printed parts, which includes 8 wheels! A fair amount of PE, loads of options, and modelling potential! Best £20 spent in a long time! But not for the faint hearted.

Visited my old stomping grounds today and discovered the model shop I used to frequent, and purchased a lot of my early gaming miniatures from, was still there! No miniatures now, but their kit selection whilst small, was beautifully formed. So picked these two beauties up! #histscalemodels

I've heard some outstanding things about Vespid models so decided to take a punt. Opening the box was a pure delight, stunning levels of sharp detail (Flyhawk level), aluminium barrels in both kits, 3d muzzle brakes, the Panther has so many options! Like dragon models used to be! #histscalemodels

A Nemesis wargames project as I was vexing myself over MARPAT scheme in 20mm! Then realised it's too small at this scale, so floodgates open I've rattled through 60 figures over the last couple of days. USMC destination Afghanistan!

A little project I've had a hankering to do for many years is #Warmaster, with 3d printing and a bunch of very talented sculptors keeping the game alive, it's given me the opportunity to get going! So apparently this is my first test base of Skaven Jezzails! Have to say a pleasure to paint and fun!

I introduced my lads mate to CoC today. He's 14, interested in WWII, but he has never played previously. His gaming has been 40k centric. Suffice to say he loved it, got a great understanding of the rules and period, and very interested in playing again. Shows just how great #Toofatlardies rules are

A busy but productive afternoon, finished construction on the little Fokker, Prepped a big (54mm) Fokker, namely a British Grenadier from the AWI, and painted up a batch of 128 6mm Romans, a quick project so not my finest efforts. Not a bad effort to span 3 aspects of my hobbies 🤣

Just about finished the build on this little Fokker! Rigged between the wheel spars, but even 0.2mm at 1/144 is too big 😖 sadly don't have any 0.1mm. #histscalemodels

Greyhound! Pretty good film, lots of naval suspense, the likes of which we've not seen on film for years! Although truth be told I was rooting for the Flower Corvette 😃

Resuming some work on the 54mm Swiss Voltiguer, wasn't happy with the fringe on the epaulettes, so decided to fashion my own out of 0.2mm twisted copper wire, then cut to 2mm lengths.... ..... looks better than the original plastic. Hopefully this should improve next time. #histscalemodels

I think..... I've finished the rust painting of the push plate on the front of the Stryker. Creative critique onions gratefully taken..... Onto the main event now and finish the vehicle exterior. #histscalemodels

Now that I'm at the end of my first Stryker build, time to start another 😜 This time, the M1130 CV, again from AFV Club. Plus the huge amounts of aftermarket compiled for this project! The interior will be converted from IAV to CV with clever use of the mrap sets. #histscalemodels

Whilst the Abrams has taken a few hours of my time, the Stryker hasn't been ignored. Started the rust painting on the pusher. A base of acrylics followed by a mix of enamel effects, first attempt, so not brilliant, but a reasonable start? Needs a tidy up too, but easily fixed. #histscalemodels
