Very cool! They can't open source the C++ parts as Source 2 is obviously Valve's code.

It's rather ironic that I haven't been getting ads on twitch for months (because no one buys ads here), and now all of a sudden they keep repeating an ad for twitch turbo promoting ad free viewing.

You can now browse anyone's owned games or wishlist on steamdb with all the filters. It was partially possible before by specifying the accountid in the url, but now it's more obvious, and you can get to it from the calculator.

I've got
@cloudflare.social
to sponsor Workers for
steamstat.us
, it's pretty cool. The status json is stored in the KV, and I've now added SSR support, which means page load is faster and you can see the status without JS (rendering the canvas graphs still requires js though).

You should have a performance bar always available in production which has timings and logs all the individual queries. This helps you find bottlenecks that need attention just while you're using the site.

There's a reference to TF project in the source1import code, that means Valve are trying to import S1 assets into Source 2. This is still assuming that TF actually means Team Fortress. noticed by

Battlefield 6 is a lot of fun, shotgun is op as hell, and you can do a lot of tomfoolery with respawn beacons. The empire state map feels like a deathmatch map though, it's way too small.

Added two new rankings to SteamDB: daily active users and wishlist activity. This data comes directly from the Steam API, so I don't exactly know what "wishlist activity" means. Battlefield 6 is the #1 for upcoming games. DAU:

The alleged "Steam data breach" appears to be SMS delivery logs from some provider, if it is true at all. Twilio says there is no indication that this data was obtained from Twilio. You don't have to change your password, such a provider would not have your account information.

Pasting decompiled code from IDA into Claude produces surprisingly readable code. It does hallucinate the variable names in places, but it's much easier to gather what's happening in it. IDA free version works well btw.

What is Discord trying to accomplish by adding clan tags? First it was only available for some clan servers for a year, then they removed them and brought them back, again exclusively for some bigger servers, which is just acting as ads to boost member count of the few servers that have them.
