Wasp spiders were a new one for me yesterday. On the start of the banked path, on the left, leading to the Parrinder Hide at RSPB Titchwell.

Ivy starts to become such an important food source for insects in late summer. Had my first garden ivy bee today. Only one so far and joined by common wasps and compost fly (syritta pipiens)

Hornet mimic hoverfly in the backyard today. Volucella zonaria - a female.

Recovering from Covid so little birding in last 4 weeks. Popped out to Dickleburgh Moor, South Norfolk, late afternoon. Three green sandpipers but didn't see the wood sandpiper. 4 swifts circling above with hirundines.
