I've long supported the WASPI Women campaign & am disappointment that the Government rejected the Ombudsman's compensation recommendation. Along with colleagues, I've written to the Govt asking that financial redress for the women is included in next week's King's Speech.

Whether it's emergency service workers, army personnel or carers, no one should face greater risk at work because of ill-fitting personal protective equipment. I’m backing the @gmb.org.uk campaign to end the scandal of ill-fitting PPE & recently co-sponsored a Bill on this issue.

I share the concerns of St Ninian's parents & wrote recently to Glasgow City Council urging action to improve safety at the Cowdenhill Road/Lincoln Avenue junction. This junction has been an issue for far too long - it's beyond time for safe crossing measures to be put in place.

In a recent debate on Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome & Craniocervical Instability I spoke about my constituent Jo & the fact that in Scotland patients can wait up to 20 years for diagnosis. I sincerely hope a better treatment pathway can be found for people with these conditions.

The UK Labour Govt has launched a Youth Guarantee for 18 to 24 year olds, offering a chance for learning or earning. This New Deal for young people will support business to hire young people & help create new opportunities for people in Glasgow West.

I was pleased to vote recently to remove the two-child benefit cap. This will lift up to 2,290 children in Glasgow West out of poverty. I’ve long campaigned for this & I'm pleased that the UK Labour Govt is delivering it.

Christian Churches are well-placed to collaborate with other faith communities to help rebuild trust & deliver peace & reconciliation in Gaza. I welcome the information provided by the Church Commissioner on the ongoing work of the Church to be peace leaders across the region.

Constituents continue to raise concerns about Royal Mail delivery delays. In less than two months local residents will be awaiting their Scottish Parliament polling cards & postal votes. Royal Mail must ensure they are delivered on time so that voters aren’t disenfranchised.

Four years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, I welcome today’s commitment from the Labour Govt to step up military, humanitarian, and reconstruction support. We will continue to stand with Ukraine to achieve a lasting peace. Russia must end the war.
