Only By Night 10/1 for the mares chase. She has scope for improvement while those at the top of the market are well known and less likely to show something new.

I like Amen Kate at 16/1 for the bumper. She won very nicely in the autumn and she has been allowed time to mature. She is from a nice family and hopefully she makes it to the festival, possibly via the Drf

I have been waiting to see how the handicapper would assess the cross country race at cheltenham last week. He has given Mister Coffey 3 lbs was his 1 length second to Stumptown. So I would think Stumptown will get around 5 lb of a rise. At 4/1 for the x ctry at the fez, Stumptown is my selection.

H De B has a knack with novice chasers, so it should be worthwhile siding with Inthepocket, 10/1,for the Arkle. He ran a very decent race in his first chase this season at Wexford, surely further improvement awaits.

For the Turners novice hurdle over 2m5, I like the look of Ballygunner Castle at 20/1. He needs to improve a lot to really be a true contender but he just might. From the family of Yorkhill, he is worth considering.

Now that Willie has said he is planning a 2 mile race plan, and not taking up the next entry stage for the King George, its time to back Gaelic Warrior at 4/1 for the champion chase. Jonbon is vunerable at cheltenham.

The spring of 2024 saw the Derek O'Connor pointers in a flying mood. One that won nicely was Goraibhmaithagat over a 2m4 trip. Owned by JP he is 33/1 for the festival bumper. I will be keeping an eye on this lad over the next couple of years. Go Raibh Maith Agat is Irish for Thank You.

Tatts sale after racing today. Lot 36 will be interesting, a gelding out of the fine mare Voler La Vedette. He won his debut ptp recently.

On Sunday at Navan holds the entry of Qualimita. A €500,000 purchase for Robcour, this Gordon Elliott mare could make her first run of the season. She is available at 33/1 for the Mares Novice Hurdle at the festival.
