SAVA is proud to support Anca Benera & Arnold Estefán in representing Romania at the 61st Venice Biennale as an official partner of the pavilion. Their project 'Black Seas — Scores for the Sonic Eye', rethinks the Black Sea through geoecological rupture shaped by imperial and extractive histories.

Read a new piece by SAVA Research Fellow Sorcha Thomson reflecting on her research into the archives of tricontinentalism in Cuba. She traces the archival route from Palestine solidarity networks to her current work with SAVA on the environmental history of tricontinental praxis. Link in bio!

This presentation will consider the ways in which contemporary artists are engaging with the Socialist Anthropocene to shed light on the socialism's environmental histories and inform discussion about colonialism and nature relations across its global geographies.

Sorcha will share her research on the role of Cuba's National Institute of Agrarian Reform in spreading the idea of a 'tricontinental commons'.

SAVA RW: Eco-Socialist Alliances Introducing the speakers: Terike Haapoja Terike Haapoja is an interdisciplinary visual artist. Her large scale installations and writings explore the possibility of nonviolent coexistence across differences, with a specific focus on multispecies politics.

We are excited to announce the first solo exhibition in a UK institution by artist & filmmaker Saodat Ismailova, who was SAVA Creative Fellow 2024-5. The exhibition at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art presents the world premiere of Swan Lake (2025), alongside works from her two decade-long career.
