I miss drafting Magic, but I'm done supporting UB sets, even if I like the IP. (tho I've found a UB tie in makes me think worse of the IP). A side casualty of this is that I also miss listening to the great Limited podcasts out there. But I gotta vote with my wallet. Only way to try to have a say.

6/10 - The Chaotic Orbits trilogy is a decent caper spread out across three short novels. The entire thing reads like a heist movie / robin hood story, with a wise-cracking female lead outsmarting her government operative/lover at every turn. Fairly predictable, but still fun. 🪐📚💙 #books #scifi

I had a great time living my best cat life on my #SteamDeck. I went in blind and had no idea I was in for a scifi romp. Equal parts creepy and cute, this is peak environmental story-telling with a dash of action. Fav activities included knocking everything off counters and meowing for no reason.

5/10 - A #scifi reimagining of The Great Gatsby, which was perhaps lost on me because I've never read the source material. The plot sort of drifts along, never really going places fast. The overarching "Alien invasion" / doomsday motif felt bolted on. Not enough to DNF, but not a fav. 🪐📚💙 #books

Fourth draft. first 🏆. After near-misses with a sweet Jeskai brew and a Lorehold go-wide deck, this Witherbloom (splashing Quandrix) brew got me there with very little drama. Landing multiple Bogwater Lumarets felt unfair to my more aggro-leaning opponents. #mtg #mtglimited

This absurd bomb has got to be in the running for biggest mistake in SOS limited. Feels like an auto-lose if it resolves and you don't have an immediate answer. 🤮 Wizards really have to learn to move garbage like this either up the curve or to mythic to not hurt draft formats.

Book two of The Kindom Trilogy easily surpasses the first. While it lacks the brutal twist that made book one so amazing, the story is instead far more compact and tense. Loving this weird political space opera and looking forward to the finale! #books #scifi 🪐📚💙

I wrapped up The Outer Wilds on my #SteamDeck last night.... just a perfect little environmental storytelling game. A very nonlinear story told within a 22m time loop. Charming and mysterious. I could have done without being eaten by so many space angler fish tho.... #gaming

🏆 A blistering 7-0 in March of the Machine draft. I'm dumpster tier due to avoiding the current UB slop, so the competition was a bit soft - but the deck felt great regardless. Zephyr Singer was easy MVP. Twice I went T4 Knight of the Coalition into T5 KotC + Singer. 11 flying vigilance damage.

I finished up an excellent 60+ hours of Clair Obscur on my #steamdeck - top 10 game for me and maybe creeping into my lifetime top 5. I played on normal mode the entire way through and while I got quite good at dodging, I could never parry worth a damn. Might come back for more end game content.
