Japanese photographer Masahisa Fukase's Ravens photobook (1976-82) explores the aftermath of the breakdown of his marriage to his second wife. In 1992, he fell down the stairs of his favourite Tokyo haunt and spent the final ­­ 20 years of his life in a coma.

According to the Guardian today; ‘.. reading for pleasure is a dying pursuit. Half of adults in the UK say they never read, and levels among children and young people are at their lowest in 20 years.’ How utterly depressing.
