If in 2026 you want to stay safe from accidentally updating to macOS Tahoe or worse, you can enable beta updates for macOS Sequoia in your system settings, which will prevent your Mac from looking for Tahoe updates. Same trick works on iOS too.

I think I totally forgot to mention that #Amore automatically creates an installer DMG for your app. Right now it's pretty basic, but the plan is to make this customizable and add pretty presets soon.

Really enjoy using 11ty for amore.computer so far. Sitemap, blog, RSS feed, custom help pages? No problem. Learned about it from working with Pirijan on Kinopio. Solid stuff.

#Amore's Swift build times skyrocketed since I added github.com/soto-project... as a dependency to work with S3. Before it took maybe 1-3 seconds, now we are easily in the double digits and it starts hurting. Any advice?

It's cool how easy it is to just self-host your newsletter without any 3rd parties.  Started using Listmonk to collect email addresses for Amore in a privacy-preserving way and ended up using it for sending out the first issue of »With Amore«.  I don't see any reason to use a paid alternative.

I learned about Xcode archive post-actions last weekend. Now all you need to do to automatically release your app update after archiving is add `amore release` to your archive post-actions. This will export, codesign, create DMG, notarize, Sparkle sign, create appcast, and upload the app for you.

How do you ship documentation for your Mac apps? I like the idea of having a dedicated website just for docs, but would also like to have something users can go through from within the app.

Yesterday's Cloudflare outage wasn't caused by Rust, but by Lua. In their incident report, they specifically mention that this type of error could have been prevented by using a strongly typed language like Rust.

Added custom domain support this morning to prevent vendor lock-in. You can now use #Amore to distribute your macOS apps and updates, without any strings attached.

Early WIP screenshots of Amore. I used this today to publish the first Amore update. You drag and drop your macOS app binary into Amore. It will take care of bundling, signing, and uploading. You just type in your release notes and hit publish. No app review, no nonsense.

I'm going to demo an early version of Amore to my friends tomorrow. Couldn't be more excited.

Thought I was clever today and thought it would be neat if Amore were a CLI and app in one. First experiments worked really well, especially on the CLI side. But when I tried to dispatch `Task`s from the SwiftUI app, they never got executed. Any ideas?
