Is it just me or do DAGs (Directed Acyclic Graphs) not incorporate time? I don't know if I have ever seen one explicitly deal with that dimension but maybe I missed it?

Was a bit of a drought due to covid + post covid health issues, but a couple of papers in the accepted column in 2025 (got the second email today!) is the right way to come out of the funk. Hopefully more to come!

I like #EconSky as a medium to find out about new research, but find the ability to sustain a conversation about it difficult. Would there be value in having an Econ Discord server where we could have more nuanced and detailed conversations? Does one already exist and I just don't know?

Leadership is (among other things) about both being willing to make a personal sacrifice for others, and recognizing the moment when the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few (or the one) so as to prompt that sacrifice.

I'm going to post this here too: semi-hot take, the frequentist definition and interpretation of probability is wrong. The concept of probability as a long-run frequency only holds in a single dimension. Beyond this, frequency and probability are no longer interchangeable.

OK #EconSky. What are your thoughts on: 1. The rate at which you make a Type I error should be less than some desired rate. 2. The probability of making a Type I error should be less than some desired probability. Do you think rate = probability? Under what conditions do you think this holds?

It constantly surprises me the amount of human capital we invest into the areas of incentives and allocation of scarce resources as a field, but we can't figure out how to incentivize good referee reports and editor communication. #EconSky
