Currently overwhelmed with the unnerving feeling of déjà vu mixed with defeat as I track down my “overview” notes… like, the running list of diagnoses dates, testing, and when I started/stopped medications. Rinse. Repeat. Again… and again, and again. 😵‍💫

Bookish Confession: I’ve always struggled to get into Jane Austen’s books. I think it’s the combination of the somewhat heightened language and a social structure/culture that I have very little point of reference for. Like, I’ve read and watched Pride & Prejudice. I still don’t get the hype.

Just scheduled my flu x Covid vaccine appointment! Last year my insurance would only cover the Covid shot in a clinic setting (vs at my pharmacy), so we’ll see if I can get both as scheduled. 😜

The real issue isn’t left vs right. It’s not white vs black. It’s not citizen vs immigrant. It’s not gay vs straight. The real issue is that a lot of powerful people have a vested interest — and a lot of money invested — in dividing us, and it’s working.

I just saw that it’s Malnutrition Awareness Week this week. Malnutrition has been my biggest fear since I received my gastroparesis diagnosis. It’s an aspect of symptom management that I could not get providers to take seriously outside of a dietitian’s office.

Life is hard because sometimes I need to adjust my meds and sometimes I need a crisp Diet Coke and I still can’t tell which is which

You know, sometimes being in other fandoms is helpful in terms of perspective. For example: There’s two WHOLE FILMS that the Percy Jackson fandom has collectively refused to accept as canon. 😆 (INCLUDING THE AUTHOR!) Ten years later, they have an absolutely amazing tv series adaptation.

The OG Star Wars Films. Except they were taped from TV… and missing the end of Empire Strikes Back where Han gets frozen. I never understood why he had such a beef with Lando Calrissian. Until I watched them as an adult on Disney+ with the actual ending included. 😆💀

I am heartbroken and furious over the shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. Kids should be learning, laughing, making friends — not running for their lives on the very first week of school. How many more children will live this nightmare before our elected leaders do something?

There’s something distinctly American about the irony of my insurance company sending me an email about their free “self care” app… When they won’t cover the doctor who specializes in my rare, chronic illness OR the medication I need to manage it. 🫠
