The Accidental Alchemist by Gigi Pandian - Interesting story but it felt very bogged down with a lot of ensuring you understood the main character is vegan. If you're ever looking for some vegan recipes then this is the book for you - shame I was wanting a fiction story! #AccidentalAlchemist #Book

Get Away (2024) - This was such a great movie, I enjoyed the tension, the weirdness, the jokes and the twist near the end. The movie devolves into pure chaos and that's when Frost and Bea really shine. #GetAway #Movie

Gaslit by R. R. Haywood - A well written and structured mystery with some surprising twists and shocks. I loved the setting and characters, and it didn't fall into the trap that Haywood has fallen in before - writing for a sequel. #Gaslit #Book

The Good Whale (Serial) - Interesting podcast about what happened to Keiko, better known as the whale who played Free Willy. Insightful, hopeful but ultimately tragic, it makes you think of the value of conservation and how hard it is to do the right thing. #TheGoodWhale #Podcast

Y2K (2024) - Totally insane, camp and very aware of its own ridiculousness; Y2K manages to tread the line of silly and entertaining, poking fun at the terror of the millennium with the silliness of the year 2000 culture. Perfect horror flick that'll make you laugh. #Y2K #Movie

Marvel Rivals (PC) - I played a lot of Overwatch, and I've been missing the fun fast paced team shooter. Rivals completely steps up and takes the mantle by entering some very good mechanics, gameplay, and joy. But I do hate Hawkeye, consider him the Hanzo 😅 #MarvelRivals #VideoGame

A Close and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers - Loving the Wayfarer series, and I feel like this was a more focused and interesting story than the first. Really excellent exploring some solid sci-fi ideas and showing the characters interact with it. #CloseandCommonOrbit #Book

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (2024) - Always loved Wallace and Gromit, so a sequel to The Wrong Trousers was right up my street. This has completely kept the wonderful charm and heart of the older movies and hilarity too. Do I love Norbot? Just maybe! #VengenceMostFowl #Movie

Proud by Juno Dawson - Described as a collection of poems, stories and art in the theme of Pride. It certainly delivers wonderful writing that is enjoyable and beautiful. I would say the stories are more to do with Coming Out than Pride, but still a book I wish I had when I was young. #Proud #Book

Wild Seed by Octavia E. Butler - Butler has such a wonderful ability to create such amazing fantasy or even Sci-fi that doesn't feel like typical fantasy or sci-fi. Once again a great story of power, family, and eugenics in a genuinely interesting and gripping setting. #WildSeed #Book

The Red Lantern (PC) - A very unique, story driven rogue light style game that delivers a story in a way that I've not seen before in a game. Plus there's some very cute dogs and (thankfully) a "dogs don't get hurt" option. #TheRedLantern #VideoGame

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey - After reading this, I was surprised at how faithful the movie addition is. I enjoyed the vibrant and realistic characters, the story and the way it was told. Great book. #OvertheCuckoosNest #Book
