I'm beginning to consider just waiting for the next GPU generation that (hopefully) has a regular 32gb+ GPU instead of overpaying for the R9700 after.. how many months until it actually will be sold?

I finally found codeberg.org/atufi/reinkpy and successfully unbricked (see fighttorepair.substack.com/p/citing-dan...) the Epson ET-2720 printer my dad left with me. And I found that you *can* order original replacement parts and did so for the ink tank (with this payment bsky.app/profile/haag...)

Just had the revelation that I actually need to close the paypal account I've been using for 15+ years now and so I did. The "Close your account" button on the account settings does not work, even after manually cancelling all Automatic Payments.

I don't see any other reports of firefox permanently spinning on challenges.cloudflare.com. When I click the profiler thingy I see mentions of bitwarden and dark reader. So am I the only one who permanently got their fan running noisily and their room heated up even more in the summer?

The android/iOS duopoly situation just doesn't sit right with me but the linux phones that exist are not very modern. As a compromise I bought a Volla Quintus with Ubuntu Touch, because just supporting an option that ships out of the box with something that is not android is worth it.

So... you can't actually join a telegram group from a t.me link with the web client and *have* to go through a "tg://" url handler (or manually search for the group name in telegram)? Who makes this stuff?

When it comes to operating system support, one of those is not like the others...

Because the #linux, #vr, and #openxr tags get spammed with Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Twitter, Bluesky *and* Mastodon, I checked it out again. Experimental Vulkan support works nicely on Linux. But OpenXR seems to be still only in the windows build.

In a moment of weakness I bought a CO2 + air quality measurement gadget in a supermarket without reading reviews. Straight up trash. A few days plugged in it shows fantasy values like 9.999mg/m3 TVOC, 4500ppm CO2. After a power cycle it's back to 0.005mg/m3, 400ppm www.mebus-group.de/en/produkt/1...

Finally got back to my Doogee T10s tablet and have an android 15 GSI running now. Nice hardware for really cheap. But I'm still baffled that they are selling a 6 gb ram device with 5 gb swap as "11 gb ram". That *has* to be illegal.

Imo the firewall applet in @endeavouros.com.web.brid.gy is hard to understand for non-experts and shouldn't be in the default installation.

This is my first time actually missing my connection in Frankfurt. Now I will have to have fun figuring out if I can take the Eurostar and arrive 1 hour later or the next ICE and arrive 2 hours later.

Trying to take a really early train to FOSDEM this year. No buses this early so had to walk/run to the SBahn that arrives 57 minutes before the train leaves. No wonder people like to take their cars.

I like that AMD is making a 260W TDP GPU. Remember when the amd X1900 XTX was considered to be power hungry? 135W. The legendary nvidia 8800 GTX? 155W. And nowadays the RTX 5090? 575W. With ~600W it is in the same category as actual small space heaters!
