cool how everywhere I look for polyurethane (for the armor) either has acceptable colors but it's textured, or smooth glossy stuff where the colors are way off, if they're even there at all. atp I might just use minky, i think that could be a vibe as well also new art. I will post that tomorrow :)

tail 1/6 finished printing after nearly 3 days, and it's perfect... but i gotta redo it. doesnt have the squish i want, and it's fairly heavy, so i'm dropping the infill to 7% (with modifiers at the joints to keep it at 9% for durability) on the bright side, this cuts a day off the print time lol

glue stick solved the bed adhesion issue and the second one looks perfect; starting the third (and might redo the first at the end)

a bit rough but got some insights: - lower infill density (this was 20% so it would stay together, but will definitely try less w/ the 95A than the 11% i did before) - add shell layers to the bits that aren't fur so they're smooth(er) - higher infill on the fin - use gloves when applying CA glue

modified the spine so it'll be lighter, cheaper, (hopefully) more vertically rigid, and also has holes for zip ties as a fail-safe to keep it secure in the body

Patterning is going as smoothly as I was hoping it would so far! QoL of this already makes up for the print time of about 11 days per leg, not even considering the opportunity cost of the time I'd have spent making them manually out of foam.
