I had thought that a Supreme Court ruling regarding women's political & legal rights might have meant a C4 piece about the history of women's rights & the women's liberation movement. But no. C4 centred males with trans identities. Quick feminist analysis: males are more important than females.

Parliament could and should have legislated to resolve the doubts and conflicts raised between the wording of the two statutes. It should not have required a charity to take this to the UK’s apex court

“Woman” for the purposes of the Equality Act means biological female, allowing eg lesbian-only spaces, single-sex services and maternity protections. But trans women are protected from discrimination by the characteristic of “gender reassignment” and also if they are read as women.

As an aside, this must rank as one of the biggest campaigning misfires in all of history. A decade of “no platform”, ostracising, abuse etc to gender-critical feminists in the service of self-ID… has resulted in the law becoming *more* aligned with the GC position.
