Dear tomorrow me, The knees are sore from arthritis. The hands are sore from jiujitsu. The back is from forgetting you aren’t a 20 something former college wrestler.

Just to clarify. I am not the incredibly awesome Canadian artist Michael Cho. Nor am I famed X-23 artist Mike Choi (humble brag, we are friends and have been for 30 years.) I am a middle aged leftist and I spend my free time helping marginalized people and communities protect and defend themselves

They are snatching my neighbors and I all I want to do I grab my rifle and try and protect them. But that’s also how I end up dead, and the more of my neighbors will suffer.

These are just things that make me happy. It’s been a helluva Monday already.

Mood

A really cool thing in jiujitsu is feeling when your teammates are getting better. More confident. More aggressive. And that is the hint for me to get better too.

Tonight my training partner had at least 50 lbs on me. It was awful. But I survived. Jiujitsu be like that.

It’s race weekend!

It’ll be 20 years in this magnificent city. I wouldn’t change a thing. I would however put world class skiing right over the border in Wisconsin if I could. Snowboarding, then the Cheese Castle, perfection.

I am thrilled that Sundance has selected Boulder. A town where I can still navigate regardless of my sobriety. I hope this will spur the @colorado.edu to foster and cultivate a world class film program. Sko Buffs.

There is a satisfaction waking up the morning after a really good work out. Then, comes the pain of mobility. And none of the young people I rolled with last night are feeling this. They just get up and go about their business.

You know what’s fun? Telling an athletic 20 something that you had your second heart attack 2 months ago, after you’ve been tapping him for 2 rounds. I know I felt great.

Tonight, I went to jiujitsu. Came home, showered, started laundry, stretched, laughed with my partner and ate. Now I’m on the couch with my dog, drinking more fluids and watching anime. Middle age is pretty cool.

What do you mean there are more than one Jojo? Is the one that looks like Goth Rainbow Brite, is she Jojo Prime?
