I’m feeling good!

So I got a tattoo! My very first. It’s a brick and it has a symbolic meaning of being all that remains of the brick wall I used to keep around myself. I’m so happy that wall is now gone. It represents freedom and will always be a reminder to never allow myself to be hidden from the world.

My finished RG Sazabi! Painted with Oden Kan and Mr Color lacquers. Kind of a difficult build, especially the assembly. I made many mistakes and had to take it apart. Glad it’s done! #gunpla

RG Sazabi WIP. ⚠️ very pleased with it so far. But so much to do yet. I hope to have a lot of time devoted to finishing it over the holidays and have it be my final build of 2025. 😊

This oddball Mecha from Armored Battalion Dorvack. Totally boring anime, but it had some very interesting robots! Painted this all with Mr Hobby lacquers. I’m not sure what the point of lacquers is? So they endure handling better than acrylic? Or is it a Japanese thing? At any rate, hope u enjoy! 😊

Some recent work on a MG Rick Dom kit. I tried something experimental this time by dabbing on artists oil paint over acrylic I had airbrushed. I’m trying to get a really nasty, mottled texture. I feel like I kind of did that, but the oils take a very long time to properly dry. #gunpla

Just got this on Amazon and it’s seriously incredible for under ten dollars. I didn’t have high hopes, but sometimes Chinese made products are not only cheap but blow anything else out of the water. This writes as good as some of my expensive ones. #fountainpens

Some more macros of the movement of this Waltham, I think they turned out good. It was dirty inside, with lots of dried grease and a minor bit of rust. Not too bad all in all for 80 years old. I’ve since cleaned the whole thing and it looks almost like new. #macromonday #watches #photography

My sister sent me this mid 1940s Waltham watch to repair. The strap was GROSS. Crusted over with decades of crystallized old man sweat. 🙈 Waltham was a big player in American watchmaking in the late 1800s but eventually the Swiss outdid them. #watches #watchmaking #photography #vintage

This Eterna Matic I just restored. Mid 1950s. Was in very good shape, a lovely find on eBay for not a lot of money. It’s ticking quite well for its age and keeping accurate and precise time. I was feeling the summery blue strap for it and I just love how it wears. #vintage #watches

A very nice and worn Gruen wristwatch from c1951! Currently got it all apart and cleaned, but I’m waiting on parts to replace a few broken ones. Polishing up the steel case, it will look almost new when done. Hopefully I can get it ticking again! #watches #watchmaking #vintage
