Last week, I joined the Moose Hide Campaign Day at CYFN’s Family Preservation Wellness Centre. The campaign is a grassroots movement of Indigenous and non-Indigenous men and boys standing up against violence toward women and children.

I had an incredible visit with Queer Yukon Society today! I learned a lot about the organization and just how much they do to help Yukoners access the supports they need, when they need it, and how they want to receive it. Thank you, Seth, Sandy, Mitchel, Niall, and Wren, for the tour and tea.

During Minister Marc Miller’s visit to Yukon and in the spirit of the Arctic Winter Games, we announced funding for 28 Yukon organizations, including both new investments and continued support for long‑standing organizations working in the arts, culture, official languages, and Indigenous languages.

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of joining Minister Diab at the MacBride Museum for a citizenship ceremony welcoming 16 new Canadians from five different countries who now call the Yukon home.

I had the honour of presenting Ulus to some talented biathletes at the new Biathlon facility — such impressive talent all around!

It was a special day in the office last week when I was able to present Gina Nagano with the King Charles III Coronation Medal for her significant contributions to Canada, and particularly the Yukon, with Senator Pat Duncan and some of Gina’s VIP’s in attendance.

Yesterday in Whitehorse, I was proud to join Secretary of State Buckley Belanger to highlight the new Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit - a targeted measure designed to help Canadians manage the rising cost of groceries and everyday essentials.

At Rendezvous over the weekend, I had the chance to speak with members of the Yukon Rangers and learn more about the work members are doing as part of Operation Nanook–Nunalivut.

Arctic Summit 2026 brought northern and circumpolar leaders together at a pivotal moment for our region. As geopolitical pressures grow and economic uncertainty deepens, the Arctic is no longer peripheral - it is central to Canada’s security and future prosperity.

All eyes are on the Arctic, and it is essential that conversations on Arctic security remain grounded in partnership with those who have always protected this land. Arctic security depends on strong communities, local capacity, and meaningful collaboration with Indigenous Peoples across the North.

I was so grateful to break cabin fever and celebrate Rendezvous this past week! Rendezvous brings us together, as the daylight starts to return, to laugh, reconnect, and celebrate the beginning of the end of a long, cold winter.
