Good morning, Yukoners! Yesterday was a historic day - we passed the federal budget. I had a great conversation with Elyn Jones on Yukon Morning about what this means for our territory and the opportunities ahead.

This morning, it was a privilege to attend the 2025 Whitehorse Remembrance Day ceremony, hosted by Branch 254 of the Royal Canadian Legion in partnership with the City of Whitehorse.

Great to connect with the Prime Minister and colleagues this week. We talked about Budget 2025, our local priorities, and how we can continue to work together to grow opportunities across our country. Thank you for the productive discussion (and the coffee)!

Excellent meeting with members of the Liberal Physician Caucus, Dr. Helena Jaczek and Dr. Brendan Hanley. We discussed the central role of Family Physicians and the urgent need to cut red tape. We also emphasized defining team-based care roles clearly and exploring federal support for AI adoption.

🚧 Big news for the Yukon! Over $25.6M in federal and territorial funding is going toward clean water, better roads, and new recreation in Faro, Watson Lake, Haines Junction, and Burwash Landing. These upgrades will help build healthier, more connected, and sustainable northern communities.

Last week it was my pleasure to travel to Burwash Landing for the Lhù'ààn Mân’ N’tsi Wind Project celebration. A ton of fun was had during Lhù'ààn Mân Amazing Race 2025 that same day. Congratulations to Kluane First Nation on the completion of this successful project.

This week, we reached a major milestone: the feasibility of establishing a new national park in the Teetł’it Gwinjik (Peel River) Watershed has been confirmed.
