Working on a batch of recently received stamps and found this one from Mozambique, (1973), the beautiful Portuguese ship the Nossa Senhora de Conceicao. Built in Lisbon in 1701 had 80 guns and carried a complement of 700 men #stampcollecting #stamps #philately

Olympic stamps from Belgium commemorating the 1920 Olympics. They had little time to prepare as the first Olympics held following World War I. The 1916 Olympics were to be held in Germany, but was cancelled due to the war.

Recently got a lot of fillers, but I particularly like this set of US stamps from 1993, Sporting Horses Issues. As my family is in the horse business, I’m especially fond of stamps that show horse as magnificent athletes.

In St. Louis so before heading to the airport went to visit the Gateway Arch. Built as a monument to the westward expansion of the United States and officially dedicated to “the American people”, the Arch is commonly referred to as “The Gateway to the West”!
