I made my debut at a Wakefield based group. It was a welcoming atmosphere in such a creative environment. Lots of wonderful artwork produced on the evening. I only managed to get a few photos as I spent too much time chatting! Shorter poses in the first half and a standing 45m pose.

The last life drawing of the year at a Thirsk based life drawing group gave me the opportunity to go full ‘Santa’ 😂 Rudolph even joined me for the evening

I had a day to myself on Saturday so used the morning to meeting up with artists for another social Zoom life drawing session. A morning of chat and banter and some wonderful artwork which I’ll be sharing. These are a few of the poses and of course Paddington stole the show!

A lovely session at a new venue. Despite the autumnal weather it was nice to have the door open to cool the room down. A lovely group of artists, a couple who were doing life drawing for the first time whilst others were familiar faces.

I’m attempting my first life watercolour so using one of my references I’ve sketched out ready to ‘colour in’….though that might have to wait until after my Italy trip…..

It was a fantastic, exhilarating morning at Druridge Bay as I took part together with 1,400+ other people in the NESD (North East Skinny Dip) raising funds for MIND The waves were high but it just added to the fun although a few mistimed jumps had me drinking more sea water than I’d wanted 😂🌊

Modelling this week at a lovely art group based in a pub. A few new to life drawings artists there which is always great to see. Unfortunately the host forgot to take pictures of many of the poses

The theme was summer special Always an enjoyable session, incorporating the themed props into the poses. The theme was Summer but I was aided by Stanley who once again joined me on stage. As always fabulous playlist. The playlist is used to time the poses… from 1 song to 5 songs.

These were from May 2024 when I modelled at a local adult education centre which is where I first started to draw and I did my first ever modelling session.

I was a last minute stand in model for the sculpting class. The sculptor had to ‘transition’ me as the previous model was female so after a few adjustments was able to utilise what she had done the previous week

A brilliant evening modelling for @clarrier.bsky.social at Chapel FM centre for her group where she has done wonders harnessing their love of art and it’s great seeing their enthusiasm and skill. It was their first time drawing a male life model

Couldn’t help being silly this morning as I got up…. ‘Stanley’ joined me once more in my modelling exploits although I use the term ‘modelling’ loosely as I was just being silly first thing in the morning

I’ve been neglecting posting as preparing for the charity event. These artworks are from my session run by the lovely Nicola & Harry. Such a chilled and relaxing evening and I enjoyed a lovely chat with them afterwards. It’s great to meet a lovely group of people and look forward to returning.

Always an enjoyable evening with a tutored group based in a university chapel. A mixture of short 3 min poses through to 30 minutes.

My ‘body positivity therapy’ I had to address the issue of being seen erect as years of bullying had left me with zero confidence and hating my body. So working with a work colleague who helped my confidence, we liked the voyeuristic approach of this pose… the juxtapositional of it.

Another modelling session this week, first visit to this group. So relaxed and enjoyable, with the artists chatting to me. The seated was 20 mins and the standing pose was 55 minutes.

A wonderfully creative evening at a busy evening modelling for Leeds University art society. 60+ students upstairs of a pub for this weekly session. It’s always an enjoyable venue with poses from 1 minute up to 20 minutes.

I had to stand in as an emergency model when I found out two minutes before the start of the session the booked model wasn’t coming. It was a fabulous session, a couple of short poses followed by this long pose for 80 mins or so. #lifedrawing #lifemodel #lifemodelling #malenudeart

I get asked is what I think about when modelling. The thing I love about modelling is how good it is for my ADHD brain as it helps restrict the number of things I think about as I maintain pose. However at times I do allow myself to consider how I’d tackle the pose from various angles as the artist.

I did a ‘shower’ reference photo session with a friend and we were keen to try to capture ‘water beading’ on the body. It helped when another photographer friend offered to edit the photo which helped show the water beading.

Three years ago, during a reference photo session, we experimented with filters on the light…. Interesting results.. which is your favourite filter?

During my body positivity journey, it’s been a long road but was helped by working with a friend who helped with reference photos. We tried a 3 & four hand series and this was the first pose which started it off. Definitely one of my favourites and helped my journey

The booked model was snowed in so I stood in for a modelling session at a local life drawing group. A roaring fire added to the warmth, especially when wearing a hat and scarf although I’m not sure I’d wear this outfit out in the snow 😂

This photo was called ‘Freedom 1’ by the photographer who helped me me with the references which whilst providing photos for artists, really helped me in my journey in accepting my body and getting comfortable being seen naked. This pose we thought summed up the saying ‘Beyond fear lays freedom’

This was from a session I did for a university photography student who was doing her dissertation on nude lifestyles and she wrote a piece about my body positivity journey and took these amazing photos. I love the shadows and have painted this one myself as well as drawn some others
