I work at Creative Assembly now 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I'm now Senior Brand Manager working on Total War! I had such a fab first week with the team, the projects are incredible and I got to watch a big announcement at the TGAs on my 4th day 💖

I just signed a contract to start work in 2 weeks 🎉🎉🎉 Its been almost 8 months since I was made redundant, there's been 59 jobs applications, 36 interviews, 3 different offers and *finally* I get to do Brand work on games again 💖 And I'm moving to Brighton! AND it's my Birthday this week!!!

It turns out doing pickleback shots at 3am, when you are very much not 22, will almost kill you. I have never been this hungover.

At the point of 'using up food before a holiday' that I'm having blue cheese, dates, and vegan hotdog sausages for breakfast ✌️

I just had a delightful interview with some bloody lovely people and now I get to go and walk the dog with the warm and fuzzies having chatted with awesome people about creative fun stuff 💖

I just got rejected for a job I was really excited about and I now have 2 hours to get myself together before my next interview for another role that initially rejected my application but has now changed their mind 5 months since redundancy and counting 🫠🫠🫠

Why does Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, a film I put on as a JOKE, have an absolutely stacked cast?? Also, I would unironically LOVE to play an RDR2 dlc where you hunt down Vampire Bandits. It's the only logical follow-up to Undead Nightmare.

The only reason I was able to get a job at a studio was because it was during COVID and relocation wasn't mandatory. When you don't have the safety net of asking parents for money it makes you risk averse. You are acutely aware of what resource scarcity is - because you probably lived it

The previous tenants moved out of next door and I watched them spend 3 full days cleaning that place from top to bottom. Today I was woken up by builders drilling off all the plaster inside the house at 7am Landlords can be such scumbags I swear.

I've walked the dog (v early to avoid the sun) painted fences, done a food shop and showered NOW I can sit and enjoy SGDQ and play a bit of Clair Obscur and have an iced coffee as a little treat

*me dripping in sweat after walking the dog for an hour in the heat* Ooh yeah I'd love a cup of tea

Finished off South of Midnight this morning and what a beaut of a game. The visuals, story and MUSIC was stunning. The best advice I saw was kick the difficult down low so you can get through the combat as quick as possible and just enjoy the story and world 💖

You can tell how fantastic Monolith's nemesis system was because I am *still mad* at Ortha the Puny. I played that game a decade ago and I still remember the name of that sodding orc. That randomly generated NPC has had more impact on me than so many brilliantly created antagonists.

I might just start carrying a selection of cheap headphones to quietly hand to people who watch tiktoks on their phone at full volume on a packed train at 7.30 in the morning

Reason number #3 I've been rejected for a role this month: 'It seems like you have too much communications-related experience' ** NOTE that I would genuinely like to thank everyone who bothers to send a rejection email because it's so much better than being ghosted 💖

Applied for a job with a mandatory 'expected salary' section. Received an auto rejection for 'expected salary outside of range' So I emailed asking about the salary banding Apparently that is confidential but I can amend my expected salary if I want Like *EEER* GUESS AGAIN ...... WHAT?!

Well this week has been a WEEK A humungous thankyou to everyone who's reached out to ask how I am, sent jobs my way, and anyone who just generally said lovely things about me and my work. You have kept me sane more than you can know 💖
