Here are our starling houses. I prefer to lash them to the tree with natural fiber twine than make a hole in the trunk. I take them down each year for cleaning and refinishing and cut up the old twine into the garden where the birds often pick it up for nesting material in the spring.

We need to get smarter about how we talk about AI, particularly the difference between machine learning, predictive AI, and generative AI. Predictive AI isn't super expensive and power hungry like generative AI. Something like a feed generator could certainly benefit from machine learning.

I love getting added to "AI Haters" moderation lists. I would like more than anything for AI boosters to self-censor by blocking me. 💖

The thing about @attie.ai is that it shouldn't require an LLM AI interface to build a feed. @skyfeed.app already does a pretty decent job... But, most basic that @bsky.app needs real scoped access control on app passwords. Currently any integration gives too much power to any external service.

@attie.ai is well on the way to being the most blocked account on Bluesky! Passing 123,000 as I write this! Let's keep it going to send a clear message to @bsky.app that we don't want AI. What we want are improvements to the core platform. Not AI distractions!

Why assume that a creator needs to know what they are creating or has control of it after it is created? Why assume a creator is necessarily greater than what they create? This putting creator above creation is what seems basically wrong to me in so many creation myths.

Dreamed last night about building a firefighter training maze. For those not in the know, this is a modular labyrinth with movable partitions that one can just barely fit through with full gear on. There's no visibility either, so it is all feeling your way through. Much terror and fun!
