Likes it when they do a good job.
Nintendo really calling the bluff of everyone who claims Tears of the Kingdom is the best Zelda, launching a new amiibo three years later.

Big point of concern - there appears to be a conscious effort to make Slippy Toad less annoying

I sometimes wish games retail could be more like record shops, with a dozen little enthusiast places in every city catering to different niches, but then, they've all doubled their prices in the last few years.

Could do with a new jacket for summer, but I'm strictly limited to those with inside pockets big enough to hold a Switch Lite.

As people get ready to vote in the Scottish Parliament election please be careful of the spoiler operation which is 'Independent Green Voice'. They are listed second on the regional ballot paper in South of Scotland with the Green Party further down. IGV is a right-wing spoiler operation.

In terms of tone and aesthetic, Star Fox Zero was about as much as you could appeal to me. That clash of how lush and natural the worlds were, and how angular and weird all the low-poly buildings and spacecraft were. Loved that look.

Was a little miffed because my Point Blank case wasn't in as good nick as I thought in the shop. There was a bonus in there to balance it out.

Wee black and white cat's been hanging around the last couple of days. Reckon they must be from the same house, because he usually hates other cats. Very wary of me, and whenever they come close to approaching me, the buddy jumps in to get the pets instead.

Resi 9 teases at an upcoming Chris adventure, but I think if they're canny, they'll dial back on the series lore again for a bit. Another self-contained 7ey thing. Stick to the trilogy format, and make 12 the next big blowout all-star extravaganza.

I've spent around six hours getting through about two-and-a-half pages of REX. Very intricate, but I'm really enjoying it. Was so excited when I realised I'd just built hinged missile hatches.

Interested in Nintendo's low-effort calendars. I think the newest render in the 2026 Metroid one is from 15 years ago.

Nice thing in the instructions are a set of close-up reference photos of the original REX model that Shinkawa made during the game's pre-production. I think the illustrations might be new for this kit, too. If you've seen him draw before, he could probably get that on paper in five minutes.

Watched a thing about reintroducing wild horses to expanding deserts, cutting through hardened soil with their hooves and fertilising between distant water sources. Really cool.

I think there's something about how cheat codes kept old games relevant for longer. Gave magazines reasons to keep featuring them, and the particularly outlandish ones, like DK Mode or hidden THPS characters, drew more interest towards floundering old releases.

This far in, I'm convinced the only good application for capacitive touchscreens in games is for playing a virtual piano (and they rarely let you play chords anyway). Bring back accurate styli.
