we've broken down and set up camp like 3 times so far, and the level of unbothered at camp is infuriating to the cops being forced to stand in 100° heat and intimidate us.

no major incident. majority of cops have left and the people are still standing strong.

encampment stuck it out through a police stand off last night, rebuilt camp after the pigs left, spent the night, and are still outside. at 6am, the entire city police department showed up to issue citations. i swear there are about 25 cops on the block trying to intimidate folks into leaving.

the encampment stretches the length of an entire block. tents line the whole street, both sides lined with county courts and office buildings, and one corner capped by the city police station.

this is due to racism btw, this has been happening to Black teens for years. I remember getting kicked out of a card shop when I was like 12 (it was raining outside, I had no phone bc we could not afford cell phones), this sucks and I wanted folks to know this is rooted in racism
