A little art moment on my regular account. Solidarity today and in the days to come with all marginalized people.

I tried to use a blue palette for my watercolor practice today, and it really didn't work for me. I often sketch with blue pencils, so I was surprised at how much I felt like I was rendering a drowning victim (sorry @bmanuel.bsky.social). Sticking with my favorite yellow-orange palette for now!

The way Bluesky labels any nudity as "adult content" is part of this. Self-labeling holds this line a bit and lets us coexist in a public space. But if we're arguing about whether specific nudes are sexual or not, we've already lost. (People still get to consent to see nudity, though. Self-label!)

Love these! I am an easy sell on mugs: we have so many that we shifted our annual (pre-covid) holiday party to a coffee morning and used mug selection as a type of Rorschach test for our friends.

You’ll probably see this screenshot floating around a lot but it really was wonderful to see Lynch put a scene in Twin Peaks: The Return where he has his character literally stare at the camera and say that you should either support trans people or die. I needed to hear that in 2017

Practicing my color blocking by going back over old (extremely) rough pencil sketches. This one had its first incarnation as a warm up pose with model @jesse.t.h and @doableguys.bsky.social I'm lowkey obsessed with these Caran d'Ache watercolor pastels.
