Immigration Vigil Thursday, April 2, 2026 ICE Headquarters 26 Federal Plaza, NYC Rise and Resist held a silent vigil yesterday, as we do every Thursday, calling out ICE for abducting immigrants without due process. This may be a silent vigil, but our message is loud: ABOLISH ICE!

It’s an unrelenting barrage, every day. It’s a living nightmare. But I manage to keep myself together and stay optimistic. Every once in a while though, I read something that breaks through and I have to just let myself weep. That happened today, with this article.

We are spending an estimated $1B per day on the war on Iran. Now Trump and Co want an extra $200B from Congress to fund the war. But healthcare? Cut. Food stamps? Cut. Education? Cut. Cancer research? Cut. Environmental protections? Cut. And of course, taxes on the rich? Cut. It's obscene.
