Another thing I loved about Legends of the Condor Heroes: The Gallants is the time given towards Huang Rong and Hua Zheng's relationship Tsui Hark: Huang Rong is like your modern strong female character. She should have another strong female character whom she can get along with.

Summarizing my thoughts on Legends of the Condor Heroes: The Gallants The way I see it, Tsui Hark made this assuming that the viewer is already familiar with the characters' origin stories and already has some emotional attachment to them. The movie focuses on ch 34-40, skipping a lot of backstory⤵️
