Today I paid attention to this study that I already knew about (by Maschenko et al., 2021). It's a really cool paper discussing this adaptation to the cold that Mammuthus primigenius has. It's a skin "hood" that covers the end of the trunk, and both males and females have it. 🦣

All #bats are amazing - I really love bats, though I've only seen a handful of species in the wild. A big surprise, first published in the early 2000s, is that some noctules in Eurasia catch and eat small birds. Here's an article I wrote on this fascinating topic ... tetzoo.com/blog/2021/12...

Vou aproveitar aqui pra falar dessa discussão um tanto cansativa envolvendo lábios em dinossauros... A questão dos lábios em teropodes já é bastante cansativa, e é mais ainda no Spinosaurus porque fazem muita comparação com os crocodilos quando se trata desse bicho.
