NWSL league records will be in a weird place for a while considering expansion will lead to longer seasons. So it brings me tremendous satisfaction when you get moments like Chawinga breaking the scoring record last season within 24 games. What an achievement the defensive record will be for KC!

The NWSL record for fewest goals allowed in a season is 16. Kansas City Current have conceded 10 goals in their first 21 games. If they can hold their last 5 opponents to 5 goals or fewer, they’ll have set the record for fewest goals allowed, despite playing 26 games compared to the others’ 24

Of course, always want my team to win but… if Kansas City wins tonight, they’d officially win the Shield if Washington drops points in their Thursday night fixture (vs. Angel City). If they draw tonight, it guarantees that Kansas City has a chance to clinch at home.

Top, top, TOP level personality. Comes off much more reserved than say, Labonta or Cooper, but incredibly grounded, driven, and focused on her goals. Feels like this camp was her coming out party, from a future staple of the USWNT to someone who IS a staple of this team.
