Yes, of course. Woodie was there again today #allotment. But look at how careful he is, something has scared him. Two weeks ago, he would have been climbing up my arm as I tipped the seed out of the pot. Anyway, he had a good feed, hung around for a short while, then flew.

BRILLIANT!! Pointed up all of the slab repairs today with a 80/15/5 Sand/Lime/Cement mix. Perfect weather forecast and now it is P***ing it down. ☔ All Winter, it has been 4 steps forward and 3 back here. Rats/Drains/Trenches. What a Freakin' mess on. 😰 😡 <Checks forecast for Locusts>

It's been so mild these last few days - 11/12C. Still Winter though and a cosy fire is perfect for relaxing by. Rather than clear the fire of ash, we're now just compressing it to insulate and retain a low heat. One smallish split log, cut into 3 - will burn for >2hrs. Clear glass, no emissions.

We bought a 3rd freezer last year, really cheapo, just to help us to store our #allotment produce. It's full nearly: Brocolli, sweetcorn (blanched) sooooo many Tomatoes 🌱. Rather than throw the packaging away in the recycling; we made some cardboard trays - to store apples. Double win? or daft as?

by popular demand, another old relic found under the house while renovating. This place was an old Alum store in 1600 (1610) and the floor was just sand. I imagine that the sheep died in the sand dunes before it was built. Not quite a fossil

It might seem a fuss to do, but it keeps the allotment paths weedfree and adds all this beautiful organic to the beds 🌱. Such a joy to plant out in soil that is this rich 2/2

This Spring, it's time to start lifting old woodchip off the paths and adding new woodchip. Plot 34 this year. 33 next year. The old gets sieved and added to the beds. 1/2

examined a tray of apples 🌱 from storage - 5 didn't survive (top right). Wild apples from our local Coatham common, collected in August. Very tasty - variety unknown. One more tray in storage.

This house. 7yrs ago. Mid February. My goodness, 'twas cold. No heating & no insulation. 'Twas an effort to come to the house every morning. ❄️ 21st C timber met 17th C timber. The replacement of a 4.5m purlin with a tusk tenon where it met one of the principle trusses. Looking back = madness !!
