There are many books on English parish churches - architectural guides, regional handbooks, histories etc; but I never seem to see the equivalent for France, the Low Countries, Italy, Germany etc, even though I've looked (a bit). Do they exist? Can anyone recommend anything?

Shocked and very saddened to see this. Norm was a distinguished and remarkably prolific scholar of Tudor England - I have four of his books on the shelves around me now, not to mention articles. I didn't know him well, but he was also extremely kind and supportive to fellow scholars. What a loss.
