I love that it then leads to me asking, “Who is Jayce, without fitting these common tropes? & actually, why DOESN’T he fit them? What does that say about him? What’s the subtext there? & what does it say that the majority of the audience still interprets him as fitting these tropes?”

If he were those things he wouldn’t be half as interesting and complex as he actually is. I for one enjoy how he subverts expectations by being none of those things!! I love that he seems like he would be, but crucially ISN’T. I love the negative spaces that leaves.

Genuinely every time somebody calls Jayce a jock or himbo or playboy or happy-go-lucky goofy golden retriever or implies that the Man of Progress thing was nice for him and gratifying and what he wanted and was indicative of him like. Thriving and being affirmed. I die a little more inside.

Ik this is also a case of “well be the change you want to see in the world” & dw, I‘m working on it! I’m just often surprised at how tied Jayce is to the label of man & expression of masculinity. Especially as there seems to be far more variety in interpretations of Viktor’s identity & expression.

transfemininity doesn’t require a certain “look” & whiteness + thinness + disability when juxtaposed with brownness + muscularity/broadness + able-bodiedness isn’t actually inherently more feminine!!!! Believe it or not, those things have no bearing on a person’s gender expression or identity

When looking at canon, I interpret Vik as a plain ol’ man (be he cis or trans). I know there are probably many who balk at the idea of Jayce being the more feminine of the two (wrt to many things tbh, but identity in particular) with a “well LOOK at him” mentality but. but.

Ugh I really do think Jayce Talis is transfeminine! I do! Whether woman or nb, certainly femme! And I think there’s SO much in both the narrative AND meta to support that interpretation! But I don’t see many people who feel the same!!! The most tfem Jayce I’ve seen has been in lesbian jayvik aus but
