I did indeed get yelled at today when boating the bus with my Stanley mug, saying “no drinks on the bus”… He wouldn’t even let me on when I stashed it in my backpack. So I guess no more water or coffee for anyone ever.

Sometimes I think about what happens to folks who have dementia and I get really sad. My Baba has dementia, she kind of remembers me, but also sometimes thinks I am my mother (who passed away). They talk about the stress of dementia. But they don’t talk about the grief that comes with watching

I have doubts that people will wish me a happy NY. I was the catalyst on Christmas Day. I just don’t think people think beyond their little bubbles.

One thing I will always remember was my Auntie Josie on the NYE of 1999. When it crossed over to midnight and nothing bad happened she went out into the streets and banged the cooking pots to celebrate that we survived. She died this year in March. Life’s rough.

I know folks have to make money etc. But seriously Bell banging on doors on NYE, and my door says no soliciting on it. WTAF.

My word for 2026. Whimsy. I will just be whimsical for the next 366 days. You’ve been warned.

Just scrolling through marketplace to see if there is some furniture pieces that I have been looking for. And I’m reminded why I have stopped using marketplace. $400 for chairs that need to be reupholstered 🙃 make it make sense.

I need to go out more.

I also made roasted bell pepper soup, and am finishing the roasted tomato & basil soup now. So much prep. But I will be so happy, that I have all kinds of easy to warm up food when work is crazy next week.

I may have put too many drops of eucalyptus into my diffuser. But at least now I can breathe out of both nostrils! 👃

Going on adventures.

The sidewalks this morning were pretty good. Some slippery spots…

What do we think the odds are that I’ll be able to walk down to Barrington street tomorrow am? 11%. ?

I had to help someone down the road as the sidewalks on a priority road on a bus route have not been salted. I don’t know who this city contracts for sidewalks, but they suck.

It’s clear the roads got salt today as roads are mostly slush. Sidewalks…. Not a single grain of salt or sand. Nothing… So maybe just wear your ice skates if you want to walk somewhere.

I’m annoyed that my cold that started out on Dec 10th, is lingering and has become worse… even after antibiotics. (Yes I took all of the meds!) I think it needs another medical intervention. :(

I just heard someone from Ireland call Newfoundlanders from the bay… “feral Irish pirates” and I can never unhear that.

Why is it so cold? I don’t remember it being this cold so early into winter … for a long time. Like it’s mean out there. Celine Dion song mean.

I love how quiet everything is right now. It was interesting the world was very busy and noisy until about 4:30 and then it stopped. It’s really peaceful.
