Getting your W2 is always fun. I made that much... and my bank account looks like that... 10 years until the mortgage is paid off.

I had a cheeseburger pizza with beer cheese, burger, pickles, onions, and mustard and ketchup. America is worth fighting for.

I am glad I suck at posting. I am sure that I would burn out spectacularly otherwise. Like a dril post come to life.

It is wild to see the fascists trying to make Minnesota out as some kind of fraud and violence hellscape when pretty much everyone sees it as Lake Wobegon.

The book is inked in human blood and bound in human skin; which seems thematically unsuitable for Bongo's Big Adventure: A Story for Young Readers.

Thanksgiving is a problematic holiday for a lot of reasons. But it is also one that is dear to me for the connection to my family, cooking and entertaining, and preparing for the colder months ahead.

I have to hand it to Trump. It took some real legwork to find turkeys who flew on Epstein's jet.

Epstein was literally that dude from high school that was "dating" a 8th grader and would get stoned and talk like a dimestore mystic.

Ah yes... The wonderful time of year where Michigan hasn't decided if it wants it to be autumn or winter or maybe even summer again, for a bit?

I think we should all start praying to any pantheon that punishes hubris in horrific, ironic, or funny ways. Because the new guys ain't cutting it.

If I could not be getting political spam from dipshit republicans mad about Portage switching to a single hauler trash contract, I would appreciate it.

Starving kids as political pressure in an effort to raise people's healthcare costs. It is wild to see how cartoonishly evil these jagoffs are.

I get that icon based navigation on apps helps with localization and accessibility, but I really miss just going to a bar and seeing all my options. Hunting for what some random graphic designer thought represented the concept of "Export" does not make my job any easier.

I ate a paw-paw for the first time on Sunday. For those not aware, they are a native fruit here in North America. I live near the trees' northern range. The skin is a green color with a texture similar to mango. The flesh is yellow with lime bean sized seeds. It tastes like a banana/pineapple.

If I were Kimmel, I would find a guy to play FCC Commisioner Carr in every episode from now until the end of his term. Have him start his monolog, and when it gets to anything concerning Trump, cut to Carr shaking his head.

An angle that occurred to me is that whatever Trump is getting treatments for is terminal, and they want to set a precedent for a clamp down when he dies.

Members of the Christian community undertake a campaign of terror against abortion providers for decades: Obviously, we shouldn't judge all of them by the actions of a few. A shooter might have known a person who is Trans: We probably should remove all their civil rights just to be safe.

It is a struggle to stay positive. The family tradition is gallows humor, but eventually, the morbidity of the jokes start to grow the same despair that you are trying to deflect.

The whole Thiel anti-christ obsession is weird. I think the billionaire class has brain poisoned themselves into apocalyptic nihilism. They can't exercise the control they feel they deserve to have over people, so they are daydreaming about the world ending.

Isle Royale was a long-term goal for me. I started hiking back in 2011. One of my first purchases was Jim DuFresne's Backpacking in Michigan. It had an entire section on the park.

My last day on Isle Royale. Another foggy morning. This was my shortest day, coming from Three Mile Campground into Rock Harbor. I took frequent breaks to watch the water and take in the silence.

Another shot of the lighthouse a couple miles down the trail. The mist had started to burn off. The weather was amazing with the daytime highs in the most 70s. I got rained on once the entire trip for about four minutes.

During my sixth day on Isle Royale a fog cloud swept in. I had promised a work friend that I would try to get her a picture of a lighthouse. I thought I had missed it, but discovered this in what I thought was a random snapshot. I couldn't see it at the time due to the fog, but the camera got it.

Day 5 of last year's trip to Isle Royale. Moskey Basin. Something very large ran through my camp that night and snagged on my tent guideline. It could have been a fox... but I am going to hold to my belief that it was a wolf.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Isle Royale because it shows how big the island is. The water is Chickenbone Lake where is spent the night a year ago.

Continuing to document my Isle Royale trip from last year. It was either very dewy and my camera kept getting covered in fog, or I caught one of the local spirits on camera. Believe as you see fit.
